A Good private Engineering college.

Thumbs up for great faculty, decent placements and tons of extracurricular opportunities. As far as I have heard from my friends from other colleges, the faculty here is uncomfortable. Among improvement side, sports is definitely the lagging area coupled up with accomodation facilities as the college doesn't have any hostel of its own.

The placement here in Techno Main Salt Lake is quite decent. Not too bad not too good. The companies offering placements are mostly IT companies while core companies ( though less in number) recruit from here. The average sallary here in my department is 3.5L per annum. Internship opportunities are also there but i have not done any internships yet so i am not commentin on it.

In Techno Main Salt Lake, there are a lot of events going on throughout the year. The college is best known for Edge, which is the largest Techno Management fest in Kolkata. Yes Edge is what every Techno Indian proud of. It is literally the biggest. Then the largest literary fest, Eclectica (which I am a part of) also occurs here. Apart from these, the annual cultural fest, Anakhronos happens in the month of April. Some big celebrities come and make the night awesome. Apart from these, other events like blood donation camp, tree plantation, donation, etc are common and organised by all the committees.

The fees is expensive in my opinion considering myself because i come from an economically weak background. many students come from distant places like Bihar, Jharkhand and so living expenses add to the moderately high college fees and hence the overall Btech pursuing cost stands very high.

The college has a TFW scholarship scheme in which if a student's family's annual income is less than 3.5L (with proper income certificate) then, he/she will be eligible for weaver in his/her tution fees. Note- Only 5% of total available seats are available for admission under the TFW scheme.

There are plenty of opportunities to polish your extracurricular skills. You will definitely find your area of interest in here. From cultural activities like dancing,singing to techninal skills like robotics,coding to Literary activities like debate, elocution, etc. Every thing is available for you. Its your pick. Labs are also well equipped. No problem there. Sports is where I find issue. The college doesn't have a big ground. Students find it difficult to play different outdoor sports.

The seniors are very good at guidance. Actually seniors are given posts for guiding. There are mentors to help you throughout. Alumni network is strong as well. They even contribute to college events.

I appeared for the state joint entrance exam, WBJEE and got a rank of 9935. After the results were out, I participated in the centralised E - counseling (which is the only process of getting admission in B.Tech curriculum) and Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (AEIE) in Techno Main Salt Lake was alloted to me.

To be honest, the faculty is absolutely top notch. This is something which i can say with 100% confidence that you can rely upon. The teachers have a very good confidence and concept which is evident in their teaching style.
