Remarks
Overall, my college would be a place for students who are exceling and are solely concentrated on academics. The extra curicular activities and such for students aren't as encouraged by the college. Our college life is usually our most memorable experience during our lives and the college somehow doesn't realise that and are only focused on reaching the top of the academics sector.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is up to date with the current advancements in engineering and technology and the university revises its syllabus every 4 to 5 years or so. The exam structure consists of 2 internal examinations held by the college and 1 final exam which is conducted by the university. To appear for the final exam, we must attain the minimum required mark in the previously held internal exam
Placement Experience
The companies appearing for placements at my college are quite high in number compared to other colleges within the state and over 700 students yearly bag offers during their final year of the course. The college provides internship facilities in government related areas and students with an eagerness to excel and those waiting to grab hold of the opportunities presented will be able to flourish.
College Events
The events available at the college however are not as memorable however. We are given 2 main events during our academic year, namely, a cultural fest and a techfest. The college does not show any enthusiasm to support the events and the students most often are left on their own. The college does not usually support the students in any other matters other than academics.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure of the college is expensive for the average middle class family. Fees are paid year wise and the tuition fees is 85,000 yearly. The hostel fees and mess fees for students who live on the campus are at minimum 50,000 when added up.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship facilities provided by the college are not as much appealed for by the students. We usually prefer appealing to the government for any such scholarships. There are many different scholarship criterias that are available to different families from different classes of society
Campus Life
The lab facilities provided by the college are very good and the students are encouraged to explore and expand their knowledge. As i have mentioned before the college usually focuses on academics, however, we do have different teams for different sports which have bagged several prizes in different competitions held at a university level
Alumni/Alumna
The senior students are helpful and even after them passing out, we often reach out to them. The college however, doesn't seem to encourage the alumini students and prefer to have a relationship only when the children are studying in the college.
Admission
I had taken admission in the college through its Management quota. I had appeared for the all Kerela Engineering Entrance Exam which was used to rank the students who wish to admit into the course within the state for the academic year.
Faculty
The faculty at my college are well educated on the subjects they teach and they convey the classes very clearly. The are ready to help and are open minded as well as friendly. They give us a feeling of freedom which helps us ask even the most basic of questions on the subject being taught and are ready to teach and help us from the most basic level.
