Remarks
There are positives as well negatives when it comes to our college. The negatives include lack of enthusiasm towards extra curricular activities. The college is least bothered about ensuring that proper sports coaching is given.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is pretty stringent. We have a busy schedule with many assignments to be submitted. Most of the subjects as part of the curriculum are out of context with the industrial requirements which are going to challenge us once we are out of college.
Placement Experience
The placement opportunities that we have got in our college are decent enough. Being a student in the computer science department, I am privileged to be part of the department which has the most number of placements.
College Events
There are many events celebrated in our college. These spar from union day to college arts fest and a technical festival. Their are many clubs associated with our college, each of which have their own events during the course of each year. Moreover, we've been hosting a model United Nations Conference in our college for the past 6 years.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is not much of a burden to most of the students. Being a government engineering college, there is only a nominal semester fee. The impecunious students are provided with scholarships to ease their burden. Overall, I should say that the fee structure is not at all troubling us.
Fees and Financial Aid
Being a government engineering college, the scholarship section of our college is well maintained. The staff in charge of this are very helpful. There are many scholarship within reach of every minority sect of students. The scholarships include Merit Cum Means for Christian minorities.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities are not supported enought in our college. Most of the attention is given on the academic front. Sports is not encouraged much due to which, even though we have well enough players for different sports, we do not have a proper coaching for each of these.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is pretty good. Each batch of students have their own hostel building. Being the final years, we have a building with single room facility. We have a table tennis room. We also have 2 decent badminton courts.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network of our college has always been strong and it is worth mentioning. The alumni network has always benefited in placements of the final years. Entrepreneur alumni of the college recruit students from the college.
Admission
A rank list was made based on a state-level entrance exam (KEAM) and then depending on the rank list colleges were allotted. Allotments were categorized into 3. During each of these allotments we were allowed to give college preferences. Depending upon the rank, colleges were allotted.
Faculty
A few of the faculty we have in our college are experienced. But their experience doesn't pay off well enough to benefit us students. We rely on our own selves for passing exams. We are forced to rely on self- study.
