Remarks

My remark is very positive about HIT. Good place to study engineering and management. They encourages and provide assistance to develop your skills to serve the industry as well as the society. Life at HIT is more colourful and enjoyable.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It is absolutely balanced course work for Production Engineering. But to be honest I think more industry oriented advanced courses like supply chain management , logistics management , quality management courses should be mandatory rather than elective courses. Should focus on more quality management tools like six sigma , KANBAN, JIT etc. Course should be more up to date as per the industry requirements like students should have deep knowledge about advance spreadsheet viz. Excel , google sheets , powerpoint , word , could based ERP systems.

Placement Experience

3.5

As far placement is concerned , HIT plays a vital role. They try their best to provide placement opportunity to the students. Placement cell should tie up with more organizations and encourage students about entrepreneurship and provide assistance.

College Events

3.5

Riviera , prayukti, HIT MUN , circuitrix , MANIA C, FUN FROM JUNK. There are official news paper in HIT haldia , they used to cover all the events and publish news regularly. Apart from that different student chapter of technical clubs are there they organize seminar and workshops for the students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its almost feasible. As per I know the fee was almost 40k per semester. There will be 8 semesters for B.Tech courses. Fee waiver scheme is there to help poor and needy meritorious students. You can get admission through TFW quota.

Fees and Financial Aid

Students can apply for tuition fee waiver to avail the financial aid. They have to fill up a form which will be shared during the semester exam from the adminstration department. After submitting the form an interview will be held , considering the performance in interview the financial aid will be awarded to the students.

Campus Life

4

They are one of the best in this segment. Labs are well organised and equipped properly, playgrounds are there for playing football, cricket and badminton. Techfest is organised by the team once in a year to encourage the students.

Alumni/Alumna

They are very helpful. If you need any help just ask them they used to reply asap. Its like a family just like your elder brother and sisters in your family. Suddenly If you meet any senior in another cities in india you can feel the warm welcome from them.

Admission

I have cracked WBJEE exam. Generally there are 2 ways to get admission in HIT. One is WBJEE and the another one is JEE main exam. First one is state based entrance exam for engineering sciences and second one is all india based entrance exam. After publishing the result you have to go for counselling and you will get chance to get admission in respective departments as per your JEE rank.

Faculty

3.5

They are absolutely perfect in technical point of view but we should engage more faculty who have industry exposure and experience both in technology and management. More faculties from management area should be engaged to get the desired outcome.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
