Remarks
There is nothing negative about Jadavpur University. From the out side, you can hear about a lots of bad thing, but once you get in there, u can realize that you have entered in an another world. The best thing is the freedom that you feel there.
Course Curriculum Overview
Good. Exam structure is semester based. There are 2 semester per year ar in a six month gap. One is about June and the other is about December. Total marks per paper is 50, where 10 is for internal exam and 40 is for semester.
Placement Experience
There are a lots of placement opportunities. Placement rate in engeenering department is very high. Placement also occures in general department moderately. I am not sure about internship. My overall experience is just awesome.
College Events
Lots of events celebrated in our college. Some are common like freshers and fests. And there is also some cultural program, short film festivals. Most of the bengali stars are ex jadavpurian. So they often come in our university for program.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Very much cheap. As this is a full govt college, so every course is almost free. Some fees is collected. Like in our department, two fees is collected. One is for exam fees and other is for laboratory chage, caution money, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes there are some. Not really a scholarship. There are a application for freeship. That all the collected course fee will be refunded to your bank account, if your family income is bellow a certain limit. I have no idea about loan facility.
Campus Life
Everything is awesome there are a lots of extracurricular activity; like short film, room decoration, gym, karrate, sport like cricket, football, basketball, rugby etc. There are almost everything. Also there is excursion every year.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, there are hosrel facilities also. I have applied for there hostel, but don't get one. Hostel facility is mostly for undergraduate students, less for pg students. And hostels are very cheap also. If you wanna get in there, u must have a poor financial status.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes. They are very much helpfull. The teacher student relation is awesome. I have never seen such friendly teacher in my previous college, except a few teachers. The alumini network and seniors are also very much helpful.
Admission
You have to appear admission test after graduation, on the subject you want to study. U can apply for admission test if you score than 55% marks in graduation. On the basis of marks gained in admission test, they will prepare a merit list for admission.
Faculty
Good. There are a lots of teachers. The total number of teacher available in our department is almost 64. And there are a lots of knowledgeable and helpful laboratory attendants, almost 3/4 in every lab. And infrastructure is also good.
