Remarks

Its very near to kanhangad railway station and bus stand so students can reach properly. Bus system is not provided by college. College has no wifi. Students from kannur district and kasargod areas can reach easily by train, Train fare concession is provided in college.

Course Curriculum Overview

The college contain 4 engineering Courses : civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering and computer engineering. This college is under Kannur University in my time. Now its under KTU. Overall good course curriculum. There are 8 semester and there exam. Semester 1&2 is common for every course.

Placement Experience

College doesn't provide placement and jobs. Our former principal and staff tried for companies to do placement. But not succeeded. Most of the student got jobs without placemente in college. I found a job myself.

Fee Structure And Facilities

One feels the fee structure is a affodable as compared to the other colleges. The only good thing is that SSNIT has good vibe during studies and classes. My overall expenditure was around 2.5 lakhs for 4 years as per govt. quota

Fees and Financial Aid

For students education loan is provided by the government in banks. You need to pay back after 1 year after graduation. Scholarship is also provided by college and the government for lower caste or elligivle students yearly

Campus Life

Good, our college there was lot of extracurricular activities and labs, sports in each departments of engineering have an labs they have computer lab, machine lab, geotechnical lab, electrical lab, graphics lab and much more and sports are conducted every year sports events to students that have much more activities

Hostel Facilities

Yes, i opted for hostel during studies, For first year students the hostel will be seperate in the nithyananda ashram. After first year the hostel will be changed to near the college. Hostel rate is monthly 700 rupees. no mess.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni students have an great networks and they have in great jobs and the senior students are much help ful to all the junior students in their studies and the senior students conduct freshers party to the newly coming juniors

Admission

After 12th Attended Entrance exam KEAM. Result came. Apply 10th 12th marks in the site. Got Govt. Merit seat in this college Apply for this college. Got Civil engineering seat. Applied within 3days. Gone for interview.

Faculty

The best thing about this college is the opportunities you have at it. Everything you'd ever want in college you can get here -- studying abroad, challenging classes, parties, football, community service, artistic outlets, everything! - The other side of the coin of having such opportunities at such a large university is that you are not spoon fed, at all. All types of lab for students is available here

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?
