Under-Graduation in Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli

Our college area is speechless. It has prestigious ground, fresh air and healthy environment. Outside people near college are also helpful and good. There are no negative remarks about my college except hostel facility.

Course curriculum is good and updated especially for Computer Science Department. Exam structure is easy enough. There are four exam throughout the year. Two exams for 10 Marks, one Mid semester exam for 30 marks and one end semester exam for 50 marks. Total out of 100 marks is calculated at the end of year.

Placement and job opportunities for Computer Science Department are excellent in our college. Highest package is of 36 LPA and above 90% of students get placed. Our college doesn't provide internship but allow students to go outside for internship.

Our college has multiple clubs with their own moto. Talking about technical clubs, there are three clubs namely WCE ACM, ACSES and WLUG. They conduct various events such as coding competition, Hackathon, etc. Also there are various workshop such as Cloud Computing, Web Development, App Development. And there are also non technical clubs they have various events like stand out, presenting idea, etc. Also every year our college conduct mega event named as VISION.

Fee structure is expensive for students in open category. For open category fees are around 80000-90000 rs per year includes exam fees, development fees and other fees. We have to pay fee in one instalment only.

Our college offer all the scholarship provided by Government. For open students there is scholarship named as CENTRAL SECTOR which offers Rs 10000 per year and at fourth year it gives Rs. 20000 . Also there are various scholarships such as EBC, PANJABRAO DESHMUKH, etc

Our college has good environment to inculcate our various talents and hobbies. Our college offers good environment for each and every sports. I'm in chess so talking about chess our college team is always take tag of regional winner. Labs are also good.

Hostel infrastructure is very old and poor. I recommend not to go for hostel. Also there are no facilities provided for hostel students. Overall environment of hostel is very bad. Hostel fee is nearly 16000 per year and Mess charges 2000 monthly.

Alumni network is appreciable in our college. Every year our college conduct Alumni Meet. So every year Alumni came and guide the students about how to select proper company , how to build ourselves for professional level, etc. Senior students are very helpful to us.

I attempted for MH-CET exam conducted for Maharashtra state. After giving that exam , according to your score you got rank. I got 1429 state rank. Then I filled Admission form for CAP round. I gave my preference for this college. After that they displayed list of selected students according to merit list.

Faculty is good in our college. Faculty had minimum experience of 3 to 4 years in specific subject. So they teach fluently. Faculty also make use of powerpoint presentation , online videos to teach specific concept.
