Overall college infrastructure is good.college is fully Wi-Fi enabled campus every year you got the high-speed internet have to type of classes slipped and traditional have two different libraries with a huge collection of books have a large playground and also have a extra building for the examination and also have a Auditorium and indoor Play Room.
Course Curriculum Overview
JIS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING is an autonomous institute. They curriculum is a little different from MAKAUT. But overall the syllabus matches with other colleges in WB. Being an autonomous institute, they sets their own question papers for exams.
Placement Experience
It does not provide 100% placement but for CS and IT it provides maximum placements. With respect to internship, it doesn't provides any internship for btech student but for Mtech it does. It give Mtech students to take classes and also an stipend of 8000 as part time teaching staff.
College Events
Every year we have technical fest. Other than that, we have graduation ceremony, freshes welcome program that includes 3 days of induction ceremony. Also Evey department celebrates teacher's day.Being an engineering college, every year we have Saraswati puja and Viswakarma puja.
Fee Structure And Facilities
When I was a student of JIS, my total fees was 348000 approx. It may have increased now. I'm not aware of the current fees structure. Being an private college, yes to some extent college was expensive if and when compared to government Engineering college.
Fees and Financial Aid
No I've not taken any loan facility or scholarship. But as far as I remember it gives fees exemption to students whose parents income is less than 200000 per year. Apart from this there may be many more facility which I'm not sure.
Campus Life
There were multiple extracurriculam. There use to regular sports. Lab was present for every department which were to some extent well equipped. We had chemistry lab, physics lab, more than 3Computer labs, electrical lab and many more
Hostel Facilities
No I've not taken hostel. College hostel was just 2 steps away from college. Not that bad infrastructure but I opted for other staying option. Every room in hostel comprises of bed, almirah study table and chairs. Common dinning room with TV. Separate hostel for boys and girls.
Admission
I got admission through WBJEE exam. There was counculling organized by MAKAUT. As per rank of individuals one gets call from colleages. According to my rank I got selected in JIS college of engineering. It is a autonomous institute.
Faculty
In this college, every teaching staff was well educated, and the HOD holds PHD degree. They were helpful as well as motivating. We had both practical sessions as well as theory classes. In both the class faculty use to pay equal attention to everyone.
