Remarks

College of Engineering and Technology is one of the best colleges in Odisha irrespective of the hygiene and infrastructure it has. Infrastructure and hygiene may not be that good in our college but it has some good faculties as well as good seniors and supports a lot of extra curricular activities other than studying the theoretical things that are taught in our college Tho theoretical knowledge is quite stressed in our college but I expect the college to improve soon and provide equal stress on practical and theoretical knowledge.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The course curriculum is quite outdated and is quite hectic. Exam structure is too bad and declaration of semester and mid-semester results takes a lot more time than usual. Course taken by me instrumentation and electronics and for me course isn't that practical oriented rather its more theoretical and boring. Same logic applies for CS engineering and other branches too. Exam structure general consists of 2 marks and 10 marks questions in semesters and 1 mark and 5 mark questions in mid semester. The mid semester is of 20 marks and semester is of 100 marks in subject of mathematics and 70 marks in all other subjects.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are quite good in our college and you have plenty of job opportunities. The placement cell is quite good too. Yed our college provides internship in 3rd year and experience is not that good. The place where you have to go for internships are not quite good and you will have to face a lot of hardships. The internships provided by the college are not paid i.e. you will not get any stipend.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure in our college is the most feasible one it's too much low for core branches and is around 15000 per semester and for self sustainable courses it's around 32000 per semester Show the fees as compared to other colleges you could say other government colleges is quite less and it will cost you around 4 lacs for total of 4 years including the hostel fees

Fees and Financial Aid

A lot of scholarships are offered by the colleges like medha bruti ,etc and even if you score more than 8 CGPA in a semester you are given a scholarship. More detailed structure about the scholarships can be found out in the college website that is cet.edu.in

Campus Life

1.5

Extra curricular activities lab sports are quite good in CET and you will find a lot of clubs that are engaged in technical activities and different clubs for encouraging students in sports activities we have a football club and technical clubs like zairza, spectrum ,energy club and a lot more.

Alumni/Alumna

Network and senior students are quite helpful they will help you throughout your college life and even after you pass out. The senior students and alluminis will help you throughout your 4 years to help you organise different workshops fests and even provide financial support if required. Seniors and aluminis are quite helpful and they will help you prepare yourelf for different interviews and even help you out in your placements and other things.

Admission

I got admission through JEE mains. I had to appear JEE mains exam and the as i qualified for the cut off ranks of this college i got admission into it. After the jee results were published i had to apply for OJEE forms. Taking part in ojee is mandatory for taking admission into CET. OJEE explains its procedure through newspapers and other social media. After following ojee verification procedure , i had to go through a verification procedure in CET and after payment of the fees i got admission into CET.

Faculty

4

Faculty is quite good in our college. Most faculties are ready to help clear your doubts and help you when required. Most faculties have quite good knowledge about the subject and are quite friendly. Faculties according to me need to have quite updated knowledge about the subject. Faculties also need to train students about competative exams and how to be prepared for placements and other stuff.

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
