Entrance Preview
I got into the college through west bengal joint entrance examination with air 4515.I wanted to be a communication student and opted for this course in the college.I had the option of getting better colleges like iem and heritage institute of technology,yet i preferred haldia institute of technology.
Course Curriculum Overview
The teachers are quite helping and they help you with all the stuff you want.Classes commence on a regular basis and there are experienced teachers who guide you in the best possible way.Most importantly you can approach them anytime with your problems.
Internships Opportunities
Basically the students have to arrange for internship themselves in case a student is unable to get an internship the department helps them to grab one.However students can go for an internship through internshala and college is very supportive in the case.
Placement Experience
The placements have improved in past few years. last year infosys and wipro shared the zero slot for my department,there were other companies as well like tech mahindra,ibm,thyrocare etc.
College Events
The college yearly holds a cultural meet,a cultural fest and a tech fest.The cultural meet is a function intended to groom up the skills of students like writing,poetry,singing, dance etc the cultural and tech fests are however sponsored and are on a large scale with lots of prizes to be won.The college also holds sports day on an yearly basis.There are other functions too depending upon requirements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college does provide a scholarship to meritorious students on the basis of interview they conduct. Depending upon the performance they provide fee waiver or food waiver to students.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is pretty okay workshops are held on regular basis which are conducted by ieee and csi.the college has its own newspaper called 'the hit times' which is edited and published by a group of students under the guidance of teachers.Strict actions are taken against the cases of ragging.Students can be a part of various societies and groom their skills.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are very helpful and cooperative. The best thing is that they help you in every possible way.You can seek their help very easily and they are eager to help.I personally have experienced that seniors have helped me take the right decision.
