Remarks
Almost everything has been shared by me above, I don't think that I can be more clinical or more appreciative as such. All in all the college atmosphere is very cosy but there are a certain changes I would like to enculcate like Anti Tobacco/Alcohol movements within the college
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum by Makaut our state engineering board is quite rigid. It moreover stresses on quantitative learning rather than quality learning. Anyways now the board is making certain changes which is changing the education pattern for the good. The exam structure is pretty simple, in 4 years of the degree there are 8 major semester wise examination. Within that there are 4 internals every semester and many projects, GDs etc
Placement Experience
The job opportunity is on the above average side compared to other private colleges in West Bengal. Personally my department along with Food technology bags the most number of jobs from companies like HPL, Nestle, Adani Cement, Supergas, Dabur etc. The college also provides industrial training in the 6th semester, but its unpaid internship where an individual can just learn the trades of his work.
College Events
There are plenty of events and fests celebrated in our college 1. Prayukti- it is the official technical fest of HIT. It's is celebrated for 2-3 days mostly during April. Many other colleges come to our college to take part in various technical event. 2. Cultural meet- It is the annual cultural fest which gets celebrated in late October or early November. This is intracollege fest wherein only college students take part. 3. Also college holds two other cultural events namely Auspicious Paradigm and Rang Milanti
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is moreover similar to any other private college . For the first semester it's about 80-90k which comprises certain one time fee like Caution money. After than each semester costs like 45-56k.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no loan facility available that I know of. But there is a fee waiver for TFW candidates also there is provision for free Tuition fee for those who have lost the sole earning member of the family during the 4 years of college.
Campus Life
The ground has an impressive football ground, one basketball court and inner facilities for table tennis, badminton and volleyball. Also the college holds an annual football tournament, cricket tournament and Annual Sports day with various track and field events.
Hostel Facilities
Yes currently I am a third year student and I reside in a hostel within our college campus namely P4. The room is pretty spacious and windy, also the hostel architecture is pretty impressive with a C type structure with 3 wings. Although the mess food is not very appetizing, so is the case for most hostels acrros India. The hostel fee is 2000 pm exclusive of flooding and sanitation.
Alumni/Alumna
Though personally I do not have touch with any alumni as such but I have heard there is a good alumni network who regularly visit college and share their experiences and interact one to one with current students.
Admission
I took the State examination named Wbjee and secured a rank of about 21k, then I filled out a counselling form online where I had to choose my probable colleges according to my rank. Then after three rounds of counselling I selected Chemical Engineering and got enrolled about a month ago from when my college started.
Faculty
The faculy is pretty experienced and stresses on wholesome learning. Personally my department's faculty is good and sincere. However there also are teachers who seem incompetent and unprofessional. But most of the faculty is nice and professional.
