Remarks

KIIT has given me the most wonderful days of my life. College life is that part of your life that you are going to relive in your memories till you breathe. Starting from academics, co-curricular activities and friends, KIIT has given me the best one can

Entrance Preview

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Exam (KIITEE) is an entrance exam which is conducted by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology for taking admission into B.Tech Regular, Lateral Entry courses in Kalinga Institute of Industrial TechnologyThey don't post your marks but my rank was 7954.I opted for kiit as it is one of the best private college of eastern India.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

My branch is electronics and telecommunication (ETC).Course curriculum is correctly formed and its not so vast. One can complete it before time.Speaking about the faculty, this is one which Kiit definitely need to improve. This college seriously need some good teachers.

Internships Opportunities

Since I'm in 2nd year I don't know much about it. But as far as I know EAM division at KIIT is virtually the corporate unit of the University. Its primary objective is to provide the students with knowledge & experience in ERP, CRM, SRM, SCM & PLM, enable students & faculty to interface with Industries to work in areas of mutual interest and carry forward training & consulting workThere are lot of paid and unpaid foreign internships too which are provided by AIESEC.

College Events

3.5

Ever year kiit organizes a mega inter college fest called Kiit Fest where colleges from different parts of eastern India participate. Then there are other intra branch fest such as mech fest and electrical fest(Electrifyn)Then again there are small competitions organised by Kiit such as dance competition, fashion show and football tournament, badminton tournament etc where participation is in a small scale.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For the 2014-19 batch the fee structure, it's 1,10,000 per semester. And 17,500(non ac hostel) and 20,000 (mess) per semester. The fee is usually incremented every year, with the University citing weird reasons for the increment. Engineering from KIIT is one lavish affair.

Campus Life

4

If you are looking for world class facilities and the ability to use them, you have come to the right place. KIIT has very good lab facilities and students are encouraged to use them as much as they can for projects and other non-curricular activities.Student life in KIIT is probably the worst that can be encountered in college campuses throughout the country. A huge proportion of the administration's time and energy is wasted in concocting ludicrous and plainly outrageous rules for the student community. I won't waste time listing them all out, but there is a massive list of these. There is a huge suppression of student expression and freedom in general in campus. With patrolling by guards as if it were a high security prison, limited areas for students to just sit and relax with friends and severely limited places to even stand after dark, KIIT campus is probably the worst in terms of student friendliness. You need to enter your hostel by 7 till 2nd year. NEVER SEND A GIRL STUDENT TO THIS UNIVERSITY. But Kiit provides with a huge extracurricular in every field be it sports dance or social services. Lot of sports opportunity like Tennis, Cricket, Badminton, TT, Football, Track events, Basketball, etc

Hostel Facilities

3

Fees: 17,500(non ac hostel) and 20,000 (mess) per semesterHostel is neatly maintained are rooms are quite clean. Sweeping and swabbing are done everyday and mosquito spray is done weekly. But the quality of food here is quite disgusting. There are many PG a

Alumni/Alumna

You can easily interact with your seniors here as the hostels are branch wise and not year wise (except for 1st years). Believe me they are very helpfull. There is also a KIIT Alumni Association (KIITAA) for every graduate of KIIT University.

Exam Structure

Every semester we have mid sem(25 marks) and end sem(60 marks) theory papers and one final practical exam,Test and viva are taken on a regular basis which count for rest 15 marks. Moreover it is chilled out compared to other colleges.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
