Remarks
Our college is the is probably the best institution of national importance after IIT KGP. Even IIT KGP was built under our supervision. It is situated just in the bank of river Ganga. There are many trees inside the campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
This is a 4-year B.Tech course consisting of 8 semesters. In a year 2 semesters take place. In the first 2 semesters, the curriculum is same irrespective of branches. There are one mid-term & one final end-term exam along with practicals & viva for each semester.
Placement Experience
Overall placements & job opportunities of this college are very good. Almost 80% of the students get campus placements. The packages are also of good amount. Yes, our college provides internships during their pre-7th semester break. I'm not reached 7th sem yet.
College Events
A lot of educational & extra-curricular events are celebrated here. All central events are celebrated. All departments organize their individual fest. Moreover "instruo" the largest technical fest of Kolkata happens here only. REBECA is the oldest Indian college fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
There is a option for fee waiver based on income category. If any student's annual family income is less than 1 lakh then he gets full tuition fee waiver and if the income is between 1 to 5 lakh then he gets 2/3 fee waiver.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are provided year-wise departmental toppers. Moreover, loan facility is also available in the UCO bank inside the college. Any student with poor family income gets fee waiver as well. My friend who has topped last year gets the scholarship.
Campus Life
I'm a sportsman. There is an excellent opportunity for sports enthusiasts. There is various sports played in the college that is cricket, football, basketball, table-tennis, volleyball etc. There is a well-equipped gymnasium & two large good grounds inside the campus.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are in good condition with high-speed unlimited WiFi connection.The mess foods' quality can be improved.24×7 power supply & washing machine in each floor are provided.The hostels are well within the campus.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes absolutely. The college is the 2nd oldest engineering college of India (164 year old) our alumni are all over the globe and they contribute adequately for the college. The swimming pool & the basketball court are built by alumni funds only. There is also an option for getting alumni scholarships.
Admission
I appeared for JEE MAIN 2018. There I got AIR 17838. Then from the obtained rank I participated in JOSAA counselling process. From there I was allotted this college according to my filled choices of college & branch.
Faculty
Faculties are well-trained & very helpful of this college. Most of them are IIT pass-outs. They have deep knowledge on their field of study. Classes are also taken regularly by them. They also help us in obtaining internships outside the College.
