Remarks
The only thing our college lacks is that the infrastructure. we don't have much space. Many colleges have large space ,so that they can conduct all sports in their college itself,whereas we cannot include.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well, in my opinion,it is absolutely good and perfect about course curriculum,since for each branches, courses are proposed to depth. By that a student can cover almost all things on a particular subject and could acquire more knowledge.
Internships Opportunities
Yes of course,our college provides internship to almost all students. Our college gives a lot of opportunities to students in various forms to showcase their practical skills to a great extent.Currently, i have done internship in BSNL(Trivandrum).
Placement Experience
MEC is one of the top college in India based on placements.About 90 companies come and recruit us in every year. Almost all students get placed on different companies.Many dream companies like : Amazon,Nvidia,Adobe,Microsoft,Ansys comes to our college and recruit students with a high package salary.
College Events
EXCEL- Techfest of MEC.It is the second techfest formed in India after IIT Delhi. It is a platform for every B.tech students to showcase their practical skills to a great depth.Besides EXCEL,we have separate events for arts and sports .
Fee Structure And Facilities
MEC is semi government college,it comes under IHRD. So, for merit list students,fees is Rs.35000 and for management quota fees is Rs.60000. Paying cash to study in MEC is worthy, since this college in return gives what we dream(if we only work hard according to that).
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college provides scholarship to students every year. There are certain eligibility criteria for which only students are eligible for the scholarship.I didn't apply for any scholarship. MEC joins hands with many sponsors and hence make students life better at MEC
Campus Life
MEC have several clubs for exposing extra curricular activities. We have club to help others who needs money, shelter , food etc. Students joins hands to each other and participate in all extra curricular activities,sports and all.
Hostel Facilities
Mens Hostel(MH) located on college campus itself.Hostel facilities are good.Students have extreme freedom there. Food and accommodation are really good there.There is gym,indoor courts inside the hostel. Library is also there.
Alumni/Alumna
MEC and alumni have a great bond. Without alumni, MEC is a big ZERO. Every pass-out students expresses their immense love towards our college in all forms. They helps us in various forms like funding,bringing big MNC's to our college.
Exam Structure
University Exams are conducted commonly to all colleges by KTU(Kerala Technological University). Exam is on 100 marks. Exam covers topics from six modules from each subject. Beside that,every college conducts two internal exams which are mandatory. Internal exams are conducted on 20 marks.
Admission
Admission to this college is purely based on the rank-list produced by KEAM (Kerala Entrance Exam). There is merit as well as management quota. But it is difficult to get admission through management quota,since entrance rank should be less than 9000 unlike other colleges. I got admission through management quota since my rank was 6001.
Faculty
MEC has got good faculty section for each branches.Our college has mainly four branches namely : ECE, EBE(Electronics and Biomedical Engineering) ,EEE, CSE. Each faculty members have deep knowledge in their respective fields and they are always ready to clear any doubts of students at any time and also very helpful in practicals also.
