Remarks

College and faculties are excellent.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

In the first year, we had theory subjects which included an understanding of hotel operations, elements, and subjects for improving English communication and grooming and personality development. In the second year, we had a compulsory internship of 1 and a half years (4 days working 2 days classes) where I got selected in Peninsula Hotels.

Placement Experience

5

Around 18 companies visited for on-campus placements. My placement interview was conducted at the company's office along with 7 others and thanks to Divya ma'am for giving us interview opportunity.

College Events

4.5

We in hotel management celebrate WOW Wednesday every week. It is an initiative to develop entrepreneurship spirit among students. Other than that, we participated in Nisarg (annual event), sports day and annual day and other college competitions as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

First-year fees were 90000 and the same for other years as well. extra charges for hospitality uniforms. Travelling expenses weren't much. train pass with student concession and bus facilities were available for free from station to college. Convocation fees 120 in last year.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life was good but there's not much to do outside the campus. We had around 12 girls and 25 boys in our class. College is happening as guest lectures, demonstrations and field visits to hotels keep happening every week I participated in carrom.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is good. They keep posting about our achievements and birthdays, etc. We also have an Alumni meet next month.

Admission

I had decided to go for hotel management right after I completed the 10th but due to lack of knowledge, I chose commerce. After completing 12th, I again decided to go to the hotel management field and shortlisted 4 colleges in Mumbai. After visiting Rustomjee college, I noticed the difference and their weightage given to lab practicals and internships I decided to take admission.

Faculty

5

Faculties are very friendly and helpful, especially Momin sir who always motivated and helped us to become a better professional. And amazing demonstrations by Santosh sir in lab practicals. Overall, faculty are good, helpful and experienced.

SIES College of Arts Science and Commerce - [SIES ASCS], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Biotechnology)
Reviewed on Feb 19, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
