Remarks

Our college is a very fine institute when it comes to quality education as well as overall upliftment of the students. Since it is an autonomous institute, the exams are held regularly and on time without default, which doesn't happens in other MAKAUT affiliated institutes. So take the admission without hesitation folks!

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The college has a very sorted curriculum i.e., they know when to teach a particular subject to the students. Coming to the exam pattern, two 30 marks internal exams are conducted in a semester, and the average is taken out and a 70 marks semester exam is conducted along with all the practical and viva-voce per semester.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement here is almost 90% if we go by the records. I could say this because I have been placed in the very 2nd month of my final year and I could see many more companies visiting college still so job opportunities here are satisfactory. College also helps students getting an internship (paid as well as unpaid). I did an internship with Sun Oil Pvt. Ltd company which was arranged by one of my professors, though I didn't get any stipend.

College Events

5

1. Utsav ( annual cultural fest) 2. Daksh (annual tech fest) 3. Annual Sports fest 4. Departmental events like technovation, chemspark etc throughout the year. 5. Sports week 6. Saraswati puja, dandiya night, prothoma( during durga puja) 7. Events organized by Rotaract club 8. Blood donation camp 9. TED talk 10. Different seminars and lectures by prominent speakers and professors.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is completely feasible for a middle-class family as it has an annual tuition fee of 95,000 which is much less than any private college. They have an exam fee of 1200 every semester only. They have hostels for boys and girls too which costs just 7000 per month. So overall the fee is very feasible for such a highly ranked institute.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know much about it since I never opted for it. But they help students availing government scholarships by providing bonafide certificates. They have a freeship program for students who reside in West Bengal only with some other requirements, though I am not aware of this thing much.

Campus Life

5

They have weekly labs, seminars, and development classes. We are also provided with personal and professional development classes. The college has different clubs for photography, dance, singing, gaming, coding, science club, aviation club, fashion club. Talking about sports then, the college has proper teams for different sports like cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, archery, athletics, and other indoor sports. The college sports team practices daily after the college gets over.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I don't live in the college hostel because I didn't get a room as I took late admission. But I have visited the hostel many times, where I found the rooms very enough spacious and well-maintained infrastructures. The mess is clean and very well maintained. So overall I would rate the hostels 8/10.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are pretty much helpful with studies and any other issues. They guide the juniors with the proper approach towards different activities in the college. During the new admissions, few students from every stream are appointed as spocs which means that they guide the newcomers on everything and let them be safe from any sort of ragging (which doesn't happen actually).

Admission

I got admission on the basis of my rank secured in the WBJEE exam. After the result of the exam, there a was councelling round where I had to choose the college along with streams according to my preference. Out of the three rounds I got Chemical Engineering in the very first round in HITK. Then I visited college with my councelling form along with other documents(10th&12th marksheet, wbjee rank card) and took the admission.

Faculty

4

The faculty of the college are very well experienced and has very sound knowledge in their field. Though the less experienced professors are a bit on an unsatisfying side, otherwise even the lab assistant and professors have very keen knowledge.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
