Positive : Good ambience, Positive vibe, Campus Life can be enjoyed very well, No restriction on simple matters, Negatives. Attitude of some teachers, Unwanted political issues, Most of the non working days are here is because of these unwanted polical issues
Course Curriculum Overview
Exam was conducted in 2 semesters per year. For a regular BTech student there must be 8 semesters , that means 8 main exams (4years). Because of i am a Lateral Entry student ( student after completing Diploma) i am getting admission directly to the 2nd year batch (because of Diploma). So i have to finish 6 semesters (3 years) In each semesters , students have to score credits as directed by the University.
Placement Experience
Our college provides plenty placement and job opportunities and the chance was only given to right students. So if a student wants to participate in placement programme , he should have the eligibility.
College Events
Dhishna: This is the techfest conducted in every year here. It will provide a nice and mind-blowing experience to whoever attends it. It consists of workshops , Robotics , expo , BMX stunts , Motor show etc and ends with ah DJ night.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It all depends upon the ranks you secure in the entrance exam. Besides that there is relaxation for fees for students who belongs to backward class. Fee for (Gen) student secured good rank is about 23k , and for a low ranked (gen) is about 45k whereas fee for backward class who secured good or low rank is 1220/- INR.
Fees and Financial Aid
CUSAT offers a lot of scholarship programmes for needy students. E-grantz for backward class students was one of them. And there were more other programmes too offered by Cochin University of Science and Technology.
Campus Life
Some of the labs were of dusty condition due to the lack of cleaning , mainly because of it is a government college. Most of the equipments were of damaged condition. But that doest affect our academics.
Hostel Facilities
Besides all other govt college hostels , the hostels here are nice , neat , tidy and is of good ambience. Here it is like a family. About 5 University hostels are available for boys. In each room there should be 2 inmates.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students were a greater help for the upcoming batches. They were not seniors they are like families. Everyone supports for everything both in academics and in social. But , I don't think that alumini have greater role in the growth of our university. All are running on the fees sucked from the students , mainly from north indian students.
Admission
After my 10th i have choosen diploma (polytechnic) After my diploma in Civil Engineering , i wrote the Lateral Entry Exam (LET , exam for diploma students for higher education , BTech) Secured 32nd rank. Got merit seat in the main campus.
Faculty
They have very much knowledge. But the mode of teaching of certain teachers was quite pathetic. But that of some other teacher's was excellent. The main reason of teachers being like this was because this is a government college.
