TKM Review

TKM college is full of positives. Eventhough the college is situated in less area , a good relation is always kept by students of every year and every department, we call this connection as Magical Unity, a term coined for TKM. Wide varietes of programs are conducted here which no other colleges do. Good academic level is kept by the students.

Course curriculum is good but really tight. Since the university is new , the patterns are really difficult for the students on the starting years. As the years pass by we will be getting used to the system and will find it little better. We got 6 modules for the semester exam. We will be eligible to write the exam only if we are securing a minimum internal mark of 22.5 for every subject. The pass mark for the final exam is 45 out of hundred. If we are having more internal marks as compared to the final exam mark there will be correction for the internal marks.

Our placement cell is working really hard for finding job offers for all the eligible students. Placement training was done during the start of the final year and it seems to be very effective. Almost 250+ students placed in the first sem itself. College is providing internship for students in association with many companies. If we are doing internship outside the total expense will be provided by the TEQIP wing of college if necessary bills are presented. I have done my internship in Thrissur a company named Spatez. Department showed good support. Provided good help by providing stipend.

Fresher's day : It is one of the program where the final years and pre final years organize to provide a platform for all the fresher's to display their extracurricular activities. On stage performances, offstage competitions everything is a part of this event. College Union Inauguration : It is the first program handled by the elected college union. Standard performances will be performed by students of every year including PG. TKM Film Fest : This is the main highlight of the first semester. A film fest is conducted every year by college union in association with Kerala state Chalachithra academy. Program that you can witness only in TKM. Onam : Event where tradition meets real metals. A wide variety of vehicles will be dispayed by every year students. Dolls, crackers etc it will be a fully packed colourful event. Hestia: Main event of TKM college. A national level techno cultural fest which is always topping Kerala. We will be providing prize moneys which no other colleges offer. A big budget program with TKM essence.

Fee structure is very feasible. We are asked to pay 8000 for an year it is considerably affordable for every students. Fee reduction is there for students of backward castes. College is not collecting any additional fees other than what government's norms are.

Merit cum means (MCM) scholarship is provided by the college for students who are economically backward and having good academics. It is very helpful because it will reduce the burden of hostel bills.

Extracurricular activities are really good. Department of physical education is having very much importance in the college. We are champions for consecutive Years in every university zonal games. Games include football, cricket, kabaddi,chess,basketball,volleyball,softball etc. Equal importance is given to both arts and literary events. College magazine will be presented by the college union at the end of the year by collecting articles from students. Labs are also very interesting and informative.

Yes I have opted college hostel. Hostel infrastructure is really really good. We will be having daily cleaning for bathrooms and floors. Generators are provided in the case of current shortage. 4 members are alloted for each room which is very comfortable. Badminton court and basketball court is present inside. Wi-Fi is provided. Full time access to TV room. Gate will be closed at 9pm no other restrictions. Complete hostel mess is controlled by students including food menu. Tasty food is provided. Maintenance works are really quick.

Alumni network is very strong. A Back to home project is implemented by the alumni network in which houses are built for economically backward students who got affected by flood. They are providing financial support for every programs. A good connection is kept by the college towards the alumni. The alumni wing is spread all over the countries. It really helps in the case of placements and all. New companies are brought to the college with the help of alumni contacts.

I got admission in this college via Kerala Entrance exam KEAM. Got admitted through the merit list based on entrance rank. Minimum mark required to pass this exam is 10. Final rank is based on our 12th marks and entrance mark both equally weighted. We can choose our preferred branch and College while applying. If we are good enough with better rank we will be getting the desired top preferred college.

Faculties are really supportive with good knowledge. Portions are taken well within the working days. Additional classes are conducted by the faculties for students having problem with their studies. A feedback system is attached with the online student portal where we can rate the faculties performance and can suggest our opinions. It will be studied well and changes will be made according to. A good Faculty management is done by every department.
