Remarks

The college has good opertunities for students and has many projects done by it.one negative remark would be that the college is hard to reach as it is in a small village where there is very less buses.

Course Curriculum Overview

The College is affiliated to KTU and follows the sylabus priscribed by it.regular internal exams and assignments are given.also a model exam is given before the main university exam.In btech there is a total of 8 semester.

The placement cell is the college is strong and most of the studenta get campus placement.some of the major recruiters are infosys,tcs,wipro,ibs,ibm etc.i dont know much about internship as i am a first year student

AOur college has a wide variety of events throughout the year.like there is a big tech fest called igniz in every 2 year. ascendio,daksh,vipanchika. Festivals are also celebrated.Also the sports team in sset is steong.there is cricket,football,kabadi,tennis,table tennis,chess etc teams.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for the merit seat is priscribed by the government which is 75000 per year.and for other seats like management and nri the fees can range from 1.25lack to 2lack.it is slightly on the expensive side

The college doesnt provide any scholarships as far as i know.and i dont know much about loan facilities provided.they have good tie up with union bank so manybe they provide educational loan.cant comment much

Campus Life

There are lots of extracarricular activities that you can choose from.this include arts and sprorts which are really steong in our college.theere are bands in our college and different fests to showcase your tallent.sports teams,inovation awards etc.

Alumni/Alumna

A sreong alumini network is maintained.as they provide the real experience felt by siniors on the first day of college.and the aluminis are always welcome in the college.they call you for adressing the juniors.

Admission

I wrote the keam entrance exam conducted by cee.the exam comprises of maths,physics and chemistry papers.i got a rank of about 18000.Then i have to give my college options in the keam site and i got alloted in this college.

The college is good and does a decent job in all the fieds.The faculty group of the college is strong.The professors are well knowledged and provides various opertunities to bring ones potential out and also provides all the support needed

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

The other colleges i applied was all govt colleges.i couldn't got the rank to get there because i got less rank in keam exams.so i choose the best college i could get on my marks. I got 25526 rank in keam examination such that i cracked in here and also i wanted to be here because my super seniors where here they also insisted me that scms school of engineering is a good college.our college is a managemental college accredited by govt either we should crack keam exam or we should jee exam or we be nri quota. These are the 3 methods that we can get to scms school of engineering. SSET- from the viewpoint of a student

I applied to government colleges and MITS ,RIST and FISAT too among with SSET. But I got confirmation letter from SSET in my first allotment itself. I choose SSET because it has a great infrastructure and wide possibility of opportunities. One of my relative was an alumni of this college and I got to know about the college from her perspective. The response I got from others whenever I asked about my college was really positive and hence I chose SSET. I never got rejection from other colleges I applied to, I simply chose to settle in the first college I got allotted after my KEAM Rank list got published. I chose SSET over other colleges because other colleges were really expensive and I never wanted to push my family to go through such a hard time just for my education. Even though I got admitted to a really great college with a high quality course the fees there in one sem was twice the amount I had to pay in SSET for a year The admission process of my college was quite simple.All we had to do was submit my certificates and sign a few papers. It Lasted only one and half hours. The eligibility to get here included passing the KEAM Exam and having 50% or more pass mark in plus two. The student must have studied Science subject with either Biology or Computer Science as the main Subject. My overall admission experience was really great.
