No, the college in all is a very good college with multiple opportunities for research and development in any field of science. With the construction of the new medical college, more disciplines of science are incorporated into the course variety of the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is well organised theoretically but practically many loopholes are present. Exam structure is very good. Two exams in a semester are conducted namely mid semester exams and end semester exams.
Placement Experience
Placements from the campus cross bounds every year with successful placement of more and more number of people each year. The college also has a system of providing internships in the 3rd or 4th year of the BTech program.
College Events
There are multiple technology and cultural events in the college including the Kshitij, the annual techfest of IIT Kharagpur and the Spring Fest, the annual cultural event of IIT Kharagpur. Apart from this many small events also take place in the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure, on comparing to the facilities and services that we are being provided here is quite expensive but much less than other private engineering colleges and serves great opportunities on this amount of price
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college offers multiple facilities of scholarship and and loan facilities for economically weak people. These scholarships are mainly based on either the education qualification or on financial documents.
Campus Life
The culture in sports is good in our college with multiple events conducting like the open IIT, General Championship and many other small scale events in nearly every sport now. Grounds and equipment for practice are also readily available
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is good with proper ventilation around the room with good greenery in the vicinity of the room. The hallway is a bit deorganised and clustered. The mess food is good enough and the culture is also good.
Alumni/Alumna
IIT Kharagpur has a very rich network of alumni connections with more than 70 year legacy. The alumni are very much connected to the college and ready to help the college at every basic level. The senior students are also very helpful
Admission
Through the joint entrance examination(JEE). It is a compulsory test for admission into IITs which is to be taken after 12th. I prepared for the exam during 11 th and 12 th standard and gave my mains and advanced.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is highly qualified and experienced in teaching the concepts to the students. Parallel researches are carried on along with teaching. Teachers are very supportive and helpful in case of any problem.
