Remarks
It's a good campus, ideal for those who want to learn and make a life out of here. Since a lot of activities are always happening around here , there is never any scarcity of opportunities beyond the realm of books and exams.
Course Curriculum Overview
The current curriculum is very planned and this is really well structured for engineering students. The exam structure includes two internal exams and one external exams for theory papers. Six theory and two labs are included evey semester.
Placement Experience
Placements are good. Good companies with dream packages are less frequent though they do take all the brilliant, capable students. Since engineering is a highly competitive field, opportunities though enough, they don't reach each student. No internship is provided by the college. Students are required to do their internships from outside companies etc.
College Events
Events celebrated includes mainly the Techfest "Dhishna" And the arts fest "Vipanchika". There are various fests organised by the different departments inside the campus and thus it's quite festive around here all round the year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It's very feasible compared to the good universities in India. There is also a reduction in fees for Keralites and that helps in giving kore opportunities to the native people here. Also engineering is a costly field and thus considering that CUSAT is quite inexpensive.
Fees and Financial Aid
I haven't availed any loans or scholarships but a lot of students do enjoy the benefits of these. There are many scholarships provided by the CUSAT Union and by the CUSAT authorities which include single girl child scholarship, e-grants etc. Also fee waivers for poor kids are given. Education loans from banks too are available.
Campus Life
Labs and sports both are given a lot of importance in the campus. Since engineers learn through labs, labs are considered really important and thus a lot of focus is given to it and it's exams. Sports though active in our college, encouragement from the faculty side is not much seen. Students are always there in the grounds and it's always quite playful around there.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are really good and well maintained. Since the campus is government funded, hostel fees are negligible. The facilities provided are good too. The only drawback is that girls have curfews and thus they have to get back in before the alloted time in the evening.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network of each departments varies but yet they're well connected to their pass outs and seniors. Seniors help a lot in placements and in academics and sports. They also organizes and help in conducting numerous talks, programs, fests etc.
Admission
I wrote the CAT (CUSAT Aptitude Test) and scored decent marks. As per the ranks admissions are given here. There are many allotments and slots through which admission to a selected ranks are given. On the day of admission documents that are required have to be submitted and then they are verified and uploaded to the database. All the fees are to be paid and admission into the course with branch has to be selected. That's all about admissions.
Faculty
The faculty is brilliant. They're all highly educated and have multiple PhDs in their fields. Their expertise and experience in their subjects makes them ideal for teaching. They indulge a lot in studies and try to out their best efforts.
