Remarks

Positive : Best Placements (100%), Brand name, Best Alumini Network, Best Canteen, Best Area, Zero Ragging. Negative : Poor Infrastructure, Small Campus, Lack of permanent faculty, Lack of technical facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

According to me, some subjects here are really nicely taken into condition as per the demands of the market. But, some subjects follow the same old trend which is not updated from years and has no usage in today's technology. Here, two examinations take place per semester, MST AND EST. MST had 40 marks paper whose 20 marks are considered for final counting. EST has 100 marks paper whose 60 marks are considered for final counting. Rest 20 marks are of TA, which include your assignment submissions, presentee, tutorials, etc. which are in the hands of respective faculty. For MST, only one or two lessons are there, but for EST, all the lessons from respective subject books are need to be done.

Placement Experience

5

Here, where the prestigious tag of VJTI comes into play. VJTI has the 2nd highest placement statistics in Engineering Colleges in Maharashtra after IIT-B(Even more than NIT Nagpur). Placements of CS and IT are at a boo in this college. Placement Records are the one which attract many students as well as companies at this college every year. Yes, this college do provide intership which is compulsory in 4th year. So, that's really nice thing is this college. Almost every student gets internship and stipent is around 1lakh.

College Events

4.5

There are many clubs in VJTI: 1. Technovanza (Asia's second largest Technical Fest). 2. Pratibimb (Cultural Fest). 3. Enthusia (India's fourth largest Sports Fest) 4. Rangavardhan - A Marathi Cultural Club. 5. E-Cell. 6. DLA. 7. VJTI Racing. 8. Aero VJTI - Won 5th position worldwide in aeroplane flying competition and has many more great achievements. 9. SRA - All about Robotics. 10. Inactus. 11. IEEE. and much more. All these clubs organise various events every month. Its like there is some or the other event almost everyday exept firing examinations. From Guest Lecture Series (GLS) to various Workshops, VJTI has lot to offer you. Many eminent personalities have came here which include APJ Abdul Kalam, Nana Patekar, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees here are feasible with compare to IITS , NITS or other private colleges. For BTECH Course, it's around 85k per year for General Category. For other Courses, it's quite low. One call also pay fees in partial installments after getting approval from Dean Sir of VJTI.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarships offered by DTE Cell of Maharashtra. Regarding College specific scholarships, there a Earn n Learn Scholarship in which few students are selected who get 20k per year by working 40hrs per year in Library which are financially weaker. There is also special Alumini Scholarship in which 5 students get complete fee waiver including hostel and Mess after successfully meeting all the criterias and attending the interview. There are also many category specific scholarships available.

Campus Life

3.5

There are two grounds in VJTI - Cricket and Football Grounds. They are not too big, considering the core area of Mumbai. But, they do meet the needs of students. All the courts like Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Football, Cricket, Athletcs, etc. are available. There is also a Gymkhana in which Chess, Table-Tennis, and Carrom is available. Basketball court is in VJTI quad which is the most visited and significant spot in VJTI. There are no special faculties for sports. But, seniors here are only the mentors as they are really friendly with the freshies.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are very limited seats for College Hostel in VJTI. Only 10 students out of 60 of every branch get hostel. Infrastructure of few blocks is not that good. But the quality of the Mess Food is really nice and hostels are really affordable considering the core location of Dadar. Hostel fees is around 25k per year and Mess fees is around 34k per year. Ease of accessibility to college within minutes is the life saver for Histellites.

Alumni/Alumna

A VJTI is known for its Alumini Network. A VJTI has one of the best Alumini Network in the country. We have special Alumini Cell which has superior infrastructure and helps the college in many ways. The recent construction of VJTI Auditorium was done with the aid from them. Alumni of VJTI are almost everywhere in the globe. Here, the brand name of VJTI plays it's role. The name is only sufficient to prove that you graduated from a prestigious college, only due to strong Alumini Network. Seniors here too are very friendly. VJTI Campus is completely ragging free. Zero ragging has happened since it's establishment. Seniors do help you in many ways. You can easily go to them and clear any of your doubts. They are really friendly.

Admission

I got admitted in VJTI on the basis of MHT-CET'19 Marks(actually percentile).Being Autonomous College under Maharashtra Government, this is the only way to get admission in this college for all courses. No Management Quota Admission is tolerated. For getting admission here in top branches like CS,IT; one needs to score really very good in MHT-CET, as seats are limited and it's either first or second choice of almost every student in Maharastra. After the CET EXAMINATION Results, one needs register on Admission Website handled by DTE Cell which will be informed later. Following that, one needs to upload documents and needs to get it verified at ARC. Further, one needs to fill the choices of Colleges including Branches according to their priority (it is most critical stage, so do it wisely) on website. Then, you are allotted a seat based on your Merit Rank and College List filled by you (Round 1). Then you will need to go to again verify your credentials at centres displayed on website. Then you may opt for freeze or betterment in subsequent rounds. There are generally 3 rounds and 1 slot round. So, after all the rounds, one needs to visit the college for further process. In case of VJTI, you have to bring all the original documents as well as all CET documents with you. You will need to pay the fees described as per your course and category through SBI Collect and then submit your all original documents finally to the admission authority and your are good to attend your orientation program in coming weeks.

Faculty

3.5

According to me, there are all four types of faculties available in VJTI: 1. Very few which really have hell lot of knowledge (done their PhD through IITS) and really care for students well being. 2. Few which really have hell lot of knowledge (done their PhD through IITS), but doesn't care much about students. Just come, do their job and go. 3. Few which don't have great knowledge but do really care for students. 4. Few which do neither of it. Here, some faculties teach through pots, some through writing everything on board, some writing nothing on board (providing notes at xerox centre). At the end, one really needs to rely on self study which will one help you in your exams.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
