Remarks
Negative remarks of the college is the bad road condition inside the college,lack of waste bins but these are all small problems.I guarantee you that if you take admission in GEC Thrissur, you won't regret it.
Course Curriculum Overview
GEC Thrissur is under ktu syllabus.The ktu syllabus is really poor and has a low standard.The base topics required at the beginning is taught last and the hard topics are taught first. But the exam system is advanced and unique.They use barcode system in every answer booklet which helps in identification during correction.
Placement Experience
Last year , over 400 students got placed at excellent companies with great salary packages.Also the college has various clubs that provides workshops, internship to improve engineering and helps to become better engineers
College Events
The college union also conducts various activities. Every occasion from Deepavali to Onam to Christmas is celebrated in our college.The annual tech fest dyuthi is conducted with flying colours.The union also conducts various cultural activities to improve the cultural side of students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is very small compared to private colleges since this is a government college.Also there is fee reduction for students who have reservation status.The fee is normally around 11000 for general students.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are various scholarship provided to students who have reservation,ex military etc.The details will be provided once you get admission to GEC This scholarship helps students who are low on income.
Campus Life
The Physical education department is excellent.The college has two grounds- a main and a hockey ground.There are cricket, football, volleyball, hockey,chess, badminton etc teams in our college.Also the union conducts various competition for sports for both boys and girls.
Hostel Facilities
I am currently living in college provided men's hostel which is really good.The food is excellent compared to other private messes and vegetarian and non vegetarian food is also provided.If you do not want to live in MH, there are various private hostels around the college.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is very helpful in providing with money, amenities for improving infrastructure of the college.The college is also proud about the alumni association of our college , most of them who have reached great heights.
Admission
Wrote Kerala engineering and medical entrance and got 2771 rank.In the allotment for college, I initially got admission at RIT Kottayam but after the next allotment I got option for admission in GEC Thrissur , took admission and started studying there.
Faculty
Most of the teachers are really kind , acadamecally thorough and provide great quality.But some teachers are not very nice.Even though ktu syllabus is poor,they teach the maximum for their students and the students provide them with good results.
