Journey from a student to an Engineer

As a son of a farmer,To get an engineer degree I had my limitations but the college helped me by giving me the opportunity to study there by paying half the fee.Also it helped me to develop my overall confidence as well as knowledge in the corresponding subjects.According to me my college is the best

Bachelor in Technology(B.Tech) is a 4 year course consists of 8 six month semesters.At the end of each semester there would be a university examination including practical examinations as well as theory examinations.Based on our choice in course (eg. Electronics and Communication) the subjects would change.The curriculum syllabus was thorough it included not only the basics but also described the advanced technologies on the current subject.

Our college doesn't provide internships but help us to find internships through the help of our placement officer,He was a very talented officer who not only considered our academic progress but also our over all development including group discussions,mentoring etc.Our many friends got placed in companies like Bosch,Tata Consultancy Services,IBS,Speridian,Kerala State electricity Board,UST Global etc.

We celebrated almost every festivals such as Onam,Christmas,Holy,Deepa vali, World Environmental Day,National Technological day etc.also we have a two day arts festival including various competitions such as essay,poem writing,drawing,singing,dancing(Classical and western).Every college has their own Festival Ours is EQUINOX,when all other colleges come to our college to celebrate and compete each other in various events such as Fashion Show,Dancing, Singing etc.

One of the major specialty which differentiates our college from other is our college gives free education(Full fee reduction) to students who score entrance rank less than 5000 and half fee reduction for those who score rank less than 10000.So that every studious student can afford the education cost.For the facilities they gave i must say it was pretty feasible.

During the admission process they availed student loans of Federal Bank with small interest amount with sufficient repay duration.Also they encourage students by give them fee reductions/full fee reduction according to their academic talents.Fortunately I was one of the students who got half fee reduction because my rank was below 10000.For the four years I only paid half the total fee structure.

Our college has a basketball court and a football/Cricket ground.Also we have recreational club below the canteen which includes Carrom board,Table tennis, Badminton etc.We have a multimedia library and High speed internet browsing in our library which also included various magazines and News papers.Every year there would be a inter college cricket,football and Athletics.

We have strong alumni network which helped many of us to get a job because of the recommendations from our seniors,they convince their companys to conduct placement process in our college.also alumni supports student who are suffering from chronic diseases or unable to continue their studies due to financial problems.

Our college selects the applicant according to the merit list based only on the rank got in the kerala engineering entrance examination.Based on the merit rank list I was the 30th person but fortunately nobody before me had come so I got the first admission.

Most of the professors have a Ph.D in their base subjects and they used their experience and wisdom in that area to help us during our projects and encouraged us to come up with our own ideas for the project instead of using internet.It helped us to dive deep into the project topic and research methodologies.
