Remarks
College is almost 5 acres of land and there is no football ground, cricket ground or men's hostel inside the college.There is a good canteen inside the college with cheap rate food. There is NSS and other social interacting groups for the well being.
Course Curriculum Overview
Biotechnology and biochemical course is one of the rearest course in kerala and SCTCE( sree chithra thirunal college of engineering) is the best in Kerala for this course.Exam is carried out in each sem. A year has two sems thus total there is 4 years and 8 sems. In first year students mainly study the basics. From second year onwards core subjects are introduced.
Placement Experience
For the biotechnology course there are only two core subject placements and others are mainly IT companies. Our college provide internships and doing internships outside the state is much better and the certificate provide greater value. I went to an internship in the trivandrum which was provided by the college.
College Events
During the odd sems college celebrates the Onam and Freshers day and there are also many tournaments carried out in the college. During even sems the college celebrates the arts festival and SCTCE has a main festival called CULTWAY and it is the cultural fest of our college and it is in even sem usually.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure for merit seat is very feasible when compared to management seat. For merit seat fees for a year is 42000 per year and for management quota, it is 72000 per year. Tuition fees for merit seat is 35000 per year other 7000 is for college maintainance and festivities. Tuition fees for management is 6500o and other 7000 is for maintenance and festivities.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many scholarships given for students in college. Mainly for OBC and OEC catagory students. There is also scholarships for students who has outstanding Mark's in higher secondary examination.
Campus Life
SCTCE has many extracurricular activities like sports , arts, tournaments, technical fests like equilibria and IEEE, there is a team called mechartans which is a team for go cart racing outdoor the college.
Alumni/Alumna
There is a big alumni association in the college with reputed graduates students in the college. Many of our alumnus are well placed in many companies (core companies) and most of them are well known on the public. They are very helpful in external support for the college's activities.
Admission
First I registered for the Kerala entrance examination. Then I got merit seat in This college in the trial and second allotment in biotechnology course. I acquired a rank of 8314 in entrance exam of Kerala known as KEAM.
Faculty
Faculty of the college is very good and most of the tutors are qualified with doctorate degree.There are almost 40 - 50 faculty staffs inside the college and the principle was a former NIT professor. There are 4 main HOD.
