Remarks

Negative remarks : The hostel can be maintained better. The fests should be improved. Free internet or atleast paid internet should be provided in hostel ,as the network availability is either less or absent in the hostel. Positive remarks : The hospital is good with decent patient input. A new super speciality hospital is coming up soon

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

MBBS course is same as in any other government college of karnataka. The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of health sciences. There are 9 terms and one year of internship to be completed in order to graduate

Placement Experience

4

Yes , the college provides internship of one year. From what I have heard of the life of interns is hectic in our college. They have night duties too. The stipend provided is 20 thousand per month as of now

College Events

2.5

There are many events and fests organised in the college. All of them are managed by the students. We have intercollege and intracollege fests of three and two days respectively. Students from all over the state come to participate in our intercollege fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As it is a government college the fee is feasible. The fee was much lower before. The fee for 1st year is 70 thousand and for 2nd year it's 86 thousand. There is a monthly fee for food and accommodation.it comes around 3 thousand

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are from state government and central government and other private organisations. For ex: vidyasiri , vidyasarathi , MHRD etc. Loans are offered for eligible students considering their economical background and caste.

Campus Life

4

The college has a footbal ground , cricket , an indoor badminton court , table tennis , carrom , chess etc. F U. Labs are well equipped with standard instruments.Labs are large and spacious. The lab attenders are most helpful during exams.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel is not up to the mark and its congested. But a new hostel is being built. So the problem will be solved. The hostel is still better than most government medical colleges of the state. The rooms have attached bathrooms with geyser. There won't be a much problem of electricity. Three people in a room feels crowded.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are helpful. They lend their books. Some of the seniors help you during exams by marking important questions and teaching difficult concepts. Seniors are most helpful during postings.they are the ones who teach us in hospital better and more than the teachers.

Admission

Candidates are admitted based on the merit list of national entrance cum eligibility test (NEET). 85% is reserved for state quota and 15% for all india quota. Candidates must sign Anti ragging and rural service bonds for admission

Faculty

3

The faculty of this college are well qualified. But in a college of government setup most of the learning should be done by the student. At the end of the day what student studies matters more than the faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
