GUIST Review

There us not much to say as I had already mentioned our institute is a new only so we are doing our best to make it's name shine in Assam then in India. As learning never ends our institute is also learning new things day by day and improving.

Course Curriculum is good and well sorted. The college is under TEQIP-III and time to time different co-curricula activities related to the syllabus is being held. The content are wisely choosen so as to give full knowledge to the students with minimum pressure.

Our institute had recently complicate 12 years is not so old institute but in case of placements & job opportunities it has got lot of success. Placements is pretty good amd most of the candidates who sits for interview are selected. There is a Placement Cell functioning in the college consisting of both students and teachers. College under TEQIP-III provides various intership to all the years students. For the 1st yeat students In-House intership is there and for the rest of the years different intership at different places are provided.

Various events and programs are conducted in our college like Hackathon, Robot making compitition, Sawach Bharat Abhiyan, Seminars, Interaction sessions with famous person, Sports events and many more.

Compare to other semi-goverment colleges the fees is feasible but some may fine it expensive also depending upon their financial condition. It's ?23k for even semester and ?17k for odd semester. So it varies person to person.

College doesn't provide any scholarships or loan. But you can avail any scholarships given from external sources. The college also support study loan from various bank if the students is ready to take a study loan.

All the labs are well equipped and well maintained. Labs are open all day long. Any student doing any kind of project can got to the labs and use it and takes help from the teacher or lab attendant. For sports different grounds and courts are thert. Any student intrested can go and play.

Hostel facility is overall good. You have to pay hostel fees only once in a year and monthly you have pay just the mess fees. The room are comfortable and are in good condition. The hostels are quite specially during evening time amd a study environment is maintained.

Alumni network is getting stronger day by day. The seniors are very helpful and are always ready to help us whenever needed. They share whatever knowledge they have with us. They discuss new ideas with us and also tell us how we can improve in different grounds.

GUIST intakes students on the basis of CEE marks and JEE marks. No separate entrance exam is conducted. For JEE candidates a separate counselling is done. For CEE candidates 1 counselling is common with that of CEE counselling which is done for all the government engineering colleges in Assam. One the counselling is dome candidates are supposed to take admission ina specific period of time. If any candidate fails to take admission his seat is cancelled automatically and the seat is considered vacant. If seats are left vacant another counselling is held in the college to fill the vacant seats. Agaim they are given a specific time period to take the admission. If then also seat is vacant the last round of counselling takes palce in college itself.

Faculty of the college is good. They always give their best shot to give all their knowledge to the students. They are always reday to assist us whenever needed and always guide us. They are very punctual to their duty.
