Haldia college

I recommend this college as one of the best semi-private college in West Bengal. If you didn't get into IIT's or NIT's you can study here. But don't consider to study M.Tech or MBA here. Also research fellowship is not conducted here

Course curriculum is guided by WBUT now known by the name MAKAUT which is not exhaustively complete but accurately distributed over the 4 year of engineering course. The exam happens every semester. There are two semesters in a year. Both practical and written exams are conducted and scrutiny is done by MAKAUT central committee appointed faculties.

For placements it companies like Infosys , Wipro comes every year and recruits from all the departments in Mass quantity. Apart from these core companies also come to the college but offered CTC is very less on an average.

There is an annual Fest organized by the college where both Cultural fest - RIVIERA and Technical fest - PRAYUKTI is scheduled for 5 days. Apart from this other functions are organized by student groups such as AUSPICIOUS PARADIGM, RANG MILANTI, etc. Annual inter department football, basketball and cricket tournaments are organized.

Feasible. The fees can be paid every semester or all at once. Hostel fees are not reasonable as compared to the facilities available. The fees included hostel charges(if opted), sports fees, cultural fees, development fees etc.

There is scholarship for backward classes, national service personnel and other important government employees children. Apart from this TFW (Tuition Fee Waiver) can be availed for kids whose annual family income is below poverty line

The college has a gym which contains few of the non aerobic equipment but none of the aerobic exercise equipment. Some of the hostel have carrom boards and Table tennis boards. Labs are not well equipped with latest equipment. For extra curricular activities students mostly contribute and arrange for necessary things.

The hostels inside the campus are quite old and lack many facilities. The power cuts and water shortage troubles sometimes. During rainy season water clogging is a problem inside the campus. But the weather is very amazing and canteen food is cheap.

Seniors are very helpful and students maintain a connection with each other even after college. The college has a lesser connect with it's alumini. But it organizes an annual alumini meet - PHIRE DEKHA where alumini's from a particularly earlier passout batches are invited

Through WBJEE competitive exam , where I secured 7364 rank and applied for Online counseling with WBUT. I got this college for chemical engineering stream. Then I visited the college campus where I filled registration for the admission.

They are have good knowledge base but less practical knowledge. Also they are unable to impart lessons through interactive sessions. Still they are better from most of the college faculties in West Bengal.
