Remarks

Other than academics the college offers a vibe - GEC VIBE that holds all of us by a knot. It cant be explained in works but can be experienced by the one studying here. The freedom is key feature that makes us experience this vibe

Course Curriculum Overview

The college comes under APJKTU syllabus. It has 2 semesters per year spanning over 4 years. Each semester emds with an End Semester Examination. The overall score needed for pass is 75 out 150 per subject.

Placement Experience

A student has got a lot of opportunities to get internship. The college itself provides a path for it. Many companies like Amazon, Infosys, Oracle, Nissan etc come to our college for campus interview.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure at GEC Thrissur is very feasible. The college has only a fees of around 10000 per years. The students who are economically weaker will get this amount refunded by Fee Waiver scheme introduced by APJKTU

Fees and Financial Aid

The alumni of our college is providing a helping hand in the name - GEcT SAFE. They offer scholarship to students who really struggle for their day to day expenses. Also KPCR, Principal's Fund is also prevailing here.

Campus Life

The college is very famous for its extra curricular activities. The college promotes such activities too. Many workshops are being arranged for improving the skills of the students. The college is famous in arts as well.

Alumni is very helpful and when it comes to senior students, GEC is a RAGGING FREE CAMPUS. Both the alumni and seniors are helping us for our improvement and guiding us when needed. All of us are interdependent.

Admission

Wrote KEAM Entrance Exam and enteres this college via an allotment process that includes option registration and many number of allotments. The overall KEAM score is an aggregate of Plus two marks in PCM and Entrance Score.

Good and Experienced Faculties and staff are being allotted in this college by the Kerala Government. Highly qualified professors from top institutions of the nation are working here. They work 24 x 7 for improving our skills.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

If you want to be in a controlled environment, focus on academics, make use of some good placement opportunities, and get somewhere career-wise I would be suggesting Amrita University.
