An old college with numerous opportunities

College provides numerous activities for the development of students. Infrastructure is not good as it is a government college. However, washrooms are new & well maintained.

It is an autonomous institute. So the curriculum is like school, unlike those university exams. The curriculum is semi-industry oriented. However there are many extra technical activities to build one's personality for the outside world. Industrial visits are conducted for core branches & not for circuit branches.

Top 5 companies in terms of the package: Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Samsung R&D, JP Morgan, Udaan. Placements are best compared to any college in Mumbai except IITB.

There are 22 committees in Vjti. Technovanza is the technical fest of college which has a big crowd. Enthusia is sports fest & Pratibimb is cultural fest of Vjti. The community of Coders, Society of Robotics & Automation, Vjti Racing, Aero Vjti, IEEE Vjti are the technical committees.

Fees are less compared to private colleges and other AICTE funded colleges. There are many scholarships available to the students. There is transparency in the fee-breakdown. There is no additional fees such as any donations. Seats are assigned on the basis of merit through the admission portal.

I have not opted for such. For SC/ ST students, there are many scholarships and fees becomes nil. For OBC students, there are scholarships available. For the open category, there is a scholarship for which your salary should be less than 8 lpa.

There is 33% reservation for girls. Student parties, workshops, cultural events are arranged by 22 different committees present in the campus which are run by students. The campus is free from ragging or bullying by seniors. The atmosphere is friendly and it motivates one's own development of personality.

Senior students show the path when a junior enters the campus. They are helpful. Vjti is 120+ years old & it has a broad alumni network.

I choose this course because of the good placement behind Comps & IT in this institute. I choose this institute since it has the highest cutoff in MHT CET along with COEP. One need to be in top 2000 ranks in MHT CET to get into this college. For comps, cutoff is 120 rank, for Extc its around 1200.

As it is a government college, there is the reservation for faculties too. Some faculties are really good while some are unable to convey their thoughts. All lectures have completed their M.Tech & have done or are doing PhD courses. For Extc, there is no permanent faculty and teachers are hired on a temporary basis.
