Remarks

Well there are ups and downs in the college but yes if you get an opportunity to study hear when you are out with the options of premiers NIT's and IIT's , this is the place for you. It happened with me as well

Entrance Preview

OJEE is the entrance exam you have to appear. You should have the Odisha state domicile and only top ranking (rank below 1000 max) can get a seat in a good stream

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I was part of the 1st batch of BPUT Odisha before that CET was an autonomous body. The course curriculum was not matured for the 1st batch and but now the curriculum is pretty streamlined. The recent batch students can assess it well.As part of my stream that is Information technology we had all the basic courses like C,C++,RDBMS,Data structure, along with some advanced course like artificial intelligence etc.

Internships Opportunities

There is no scope of internship in my college. College does not endorse any internship culture and its one of the major draw back

Placement Experience

4

My college has a more than 100% placement track record since 2003 onward. The common names are Infosys,TCS,Wipro,Tech Mahindra, Tata steel,Mind tree and many more. But you will not find many industry front runners over here for placement. The average package is around 3.5 lakh/annum

College Events

4

"Xtasy" is the college's cultural extravaganza celebrated in Jan each year."The Idea Challenge" brings together various known CEOs e.g.Milk Mantra,Tatwa etc. of the state together to help guide students with their start-ups."CETADEL" is the official literary, intellectual, and creative society. It provides an incubation for free thought and open acceptance of constructive vision

Fee Structure And Facilities

There are two types of seats free seats and self financed. The free seats are pretty affordable during my days only 18K per annum and 30 K for sel financed . Now the free seats cost around 50K per annum and self financed around 80 K which excludes hostel charges.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are number of scolarships available at my college. I am not sure about any particular name now but for sure there are scholarships available for all categories starting from economical backward students to quota base scholarips

Campus Life

3.5

The college has got reservation of atleast 33% for women. From extracurricular perspective there are number of activities which are under taken by students . "CETADEL" is the official literary, intellectual, and creative society. It provides an incubation for free thought and open acceptance of constructive vision. It also conducts events in quizzing, writing, jamming, debating and runs a think tank, Ravinder Kaushik Centre for Policy Research (and security studies). It publishes the annual college magazine, The Engineering Herald etc

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The collegge has spread across 100 acres of land at the heart of the city and has got in campus hostel facility. The hostel rooms are huge and well maintained . All the hostels are well equipped with required infrastructure for the mess and decent food

Alumni/Alumna

Yes the college do have a strong alumni network. There are frequent alumni meets happens across cities and this is helping a lot to the college from placement perspective, organising tech fests and for guest lectures and seminars

Exam Structure

The exams are in semester and internal patterns. The semester carries the value of 70% while the internals carries the value of 30% and being carried out 3 times during a semester. The labs are mandatory and the college has all the facility and instruments

Faculty

3

I would not say my college faculty has a great standard reason being there are great professors probably the best in Odisha but they are bit reluctant to take classes and less interactive . Most of the classes are being taken by less experienced contract

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
