Golden Cage

Its an above average college. Considering the physical aspects. It is certainly the best looking college in kerala. Coming to academics it is an above average college. But the thing is they make us work hard and the schedule is hectic. Its like a golden cage

Its a vast curriculum. But the engineering curriculum of kerala technological university is very hectic. It is a book based teaching method rather than a practical one. The exams requires you to byheart and mug up stuff that you would never use in your life.

Placement and job oppurtunities are better in comparison to other colleges. The only draw back is that the college is situated in koovappally which is an hour away from the main district kottayam. Other than that many software and hardware companies recruit from amal jyothi.

The biggest event that occurs here is the azure cultural fest. Other than that many technical fests like IEDC, Azuretechfest etc occur. Also culutural fests occur during onam. Although there isnt a hige number of fests in comparison to ither colleges the ones that occur are well conducted.

The fee for a semester is around 60-80k inr/year for ECE and around 80K per year for CS. In comparison to other colleges this is very affordable considering the college architecture and beauty. I think this is an affordable and right price.

Our college as per my knowledge doesnt offer scholarships to students. But you can go for government scholarships with your university marks and avail them. I dont think the college gives out any loans.

The gender ratio is pretty solid for computer science, ECE, , chemical, civil branches. Almost all sports are played here. Football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, handball, chess, badminton, table tennis are some of them

The hostel food is of very good quality and not bad in terms of taste but you get bored of eating the same rice and curry everyday. Coming to the infrastructure the hostel is well built with a basketball court in the middle. Also the hostel is connected to the college via a bridge which makes travelling to college much easier.

The seniors are very friendly and give good advice. The college has an anti ragging policy. You might be asked to sing a song atmost. Nothing beyond that. My seniors are supportive and friendly and I can depend on them whenever I need to.

I wrote keam entrance exam and qualified. Also amal jyothi has no merit seats. All seats are either management seats or Nri seats. I got in through management. There was a small counselling session. All other procedures was done online.

The faculty members are supportive and highly qualified. Though some of them may be arrogant most of them are above average. Overall the faculty is well qualified and capable. Also a cousellor is available incase you have any problems.
