Remarks
Pretty much positive about classes, examination, labs and faculties. But campusing and placement record needs a lot of improvement. All the departments' student should get equal opportunity for placement.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is too large to cover within so little time. Most of the time it's tough to even finish the syllabi, let alone revision. And there is very little scope of research. However, we are encouraged to participate in various hardware based workshops, technical fests etc. Coming to labs and exams, labs are frequent and regular. No complain on that. Labs are all well equipped. Exams are divided into two parts- two internal exams and one end semester exam in every semester.
Placement Experience
Placement and job opportunities are not so good, to be honest. The privileged departments are IT and CSE as most of the companies that come for placement are IT based. The college seldom provides internships to the elite students. Stipend is not provided in B.Tech level though it is given in masters level.
College Events
The events celebrated in our college are: Sports day, Republic day, Saraswati Puja, tech fest, quiz competition, seminars, independence day, Viswakarma puja, cricket tournament, football tournament etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The estimated total fee is about ?3,99,000 for four years. The current semester fee is ?47,300. First semester fee was including uniform, library, bag, caution money etc. So it was a lot more (?85,200). Overall it is a bit expensive.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college helps with the government scholarships. Loan facilities are unclear to me as I did not avail any. I heard from some of my classmates that they availed loan from some banks. I've not heard about any other loan facility apart from that.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities are limited. Sports day, workshops, tech fests are to name a few. Gender ratio is about 3:1 (male:female). Student/dorm parties are common. The college encourages students to attend the workshops that are held in college as well as outside. There are many cultural societies like photography club, mathematics club, environment club etc. I've not observed any intolerance based on religion, cast or ethnicity. There is no scope of student politics.
Alumni/Alumna
Monthly Alumni Digests are published every month and they are pretty much active, although I don't have much information about that. Some of my seniors are alumni as well. Alumni meets are held very frequently.
Admission
Teachers recommended me this college. This college values discipline and studies side by side. The admission process is twofold. First, the student has to get WBJEE/JEE MAIN/CEE-AMPAI score which satisfies the criteria of the college, or the student can also get direct admission if vacancy is available.
Faculty
Some faculties are really good and responsible. They take care of all the students very well. They also take the lab classes very seriously. They're punctual as well. But can't say that about everyone.
