Remarks

College and Hostel campus is separate which destroys college life experience. You will find a lot of narcissistic people if you go to branches which offer higher packages. Placement cell doesn't take much efforts to bring in companies as the placement schedule is tight and doesn't require them to take any efforts. But still, they shouldn't take companies for granted and should start to look for even better ones.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course Curriculum is really great. You get to learn Dance, Music, compulsory Sports course (GY), Soft Skill courses, German, French, Japanese, Psychology, Finance, Business as extra-curricular. Moving to the technical side, we have Honors courses which even most of the NITs don't provide. Institute level electives and department level electives have lots of choices to choose from. Finally, I would say academics can turn out to be really a great experience if you are got at self-study. No one talks about research, if you want to do then you would have to get in touch with the faculty who is expert at the domain in which you would like to do research in.

Placement Experience

4.5

Microsoft, Amazon, Atlassian, VMware, Cisco, Nvidia, DE Shaw, Arcesium, Goldman Sachs, Schlumberger, Oracle, Samsung R&D, Dell, Mastercard, Citi, Visa, Rakuten, Nutanix, etc. are among the top recruiters for CS/IT. Generally, the first round is aptitude/coding round, then technical rounds and finally HR round. The percentage of placement depends upon branch. For CS/IT, it's really hard not to get placed if you don't have any backlog and have 5+ CGPA. For my branch, the placement percentage is most of the time above 92%. The faculties in our department try to reach out to companies in the third year of our course to provide internships to students. This really eases the placements as most of the students get pre-placement offers from these internships. When I was in third year around 70 students got internships out of 90.

College Events

4.5

Minspark is the annual technical event (freshers don't miss to volunteer for it), Zest is the sports festival, Impressions is the cultural one, Regatta is an event organized by the boat club, E-fest for budding entrepreneurs and Annual Social Gathering. Mindspark is the biggest among the above. Students from all over the state participate in it. Zest has a footfall of 10k+ every year which makes it among the top 5 college sports festivals in the country.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees are very expensive when compared to other government colleges. Most of the portion if given for 'Development Fee' which no one knows where it goes. You can pay the fees using SBI Collect or Demand Draft. There are no additional charges other than the college fees for your category. There is a little transparency in fee-breakdown but the charges they take for each thing are huge.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have opted for GOI scholarship which results in me paying about 50% of the fees as my family income is less and I belong to the OBC category. I had to pay around 45k less than the normal fees.

Campus Life

3

The gender ratio for M: F is 3:2. There are students from J&K, north-east, some are NRI, etc. Our college was first in the whole country in Robocon and represented India at the International level a few years back. Robots Study Circle (RSC) is a very dedicated club. The same goes for CSAT, the satellite club (yes, we have our own satellite and soon we will have two). For debates, we have debate clubs. For competitive programming, we have a family group called the Association of Students of CS and IT(ASCI). There are 35+ clubs in this college that are officially registered. Trust me who won't ever complain about extra-curricular.

Hostel Facilities

3

The first-year hostel is the worst. The first two floors have the problem of bedbugs. The second-year hostel is okay. Third-year is the hostel is livable. Final year D-Block 2nd floor is just amazing. If you want to shoot a laser at girls hostel then C-Block is for you. The best thing is the mess, you won't find better mess in the whole Pune. Still, you will get bored after a few months as they have the same weekly schedule.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, the alumni network is really helpful. Don't know about the guys which passed out of college before I joined but the ones which you meet in clubs, they are amazing. That's why you must join a club on Day 1 if possible which works on things that interest you.

Admission

I wanted CS or IT and this was by far the best college I can get in the whole country based on marks when considering placements. It's even better than the NIT which we have in our state when it comes to packages. The admission process was followed as per the rules and regulations of DTE.

Faculty

3.5

There are 200+ lecturers in our college. About 40-50% have PhD, those who have MTech are trying for PhD. I would say expertise can't be determined by qualification. There are highly qualified professors but they lack the ability to transfer the knowledge to students and some don't have that much qualification but are able to plant curiosity in student's minds about their subject.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
