NSEC GARIA

The area is in the outskirts of Kolkata. The roads are not properly maintained which makes it really messy during the rainy season. But slowly they are working on it. The positives would be that the placements are good and if you are a decent student then you will surely be placed in a good compay.

The course curriculum is the same as follwed under the MAKAUT board. The teachers are well educated and the labs are good. When I joined we had to attend college to maintain the required percentage. Now the attendance are more strict but since I am a final year student we dont need to attend regular classes except for the labs.

Placements are quite good in this college. When you finish your 6th sem the placements start. We used to have 2 to 3 companies visiting every week. So you better be prepared for your placements. Mostly service based companies visit this college, with a stipend of 3 - 4 lacs. Few companies provide salary above 7 lacs which are numbered. Still you get a lot of chances and guidance from your teachers.

There are a lot of events that occur here such as AVENIR- the tech fest, Hackathon, Mesmerizer, sports such as football, volleyball, tug-o-war, etc. If you are good in extra curricular activities then you will get good exposure over here.

The fee structure for 4 years is about 3. 5 lacs which means around 45000 per semester. If you belong to TFW category then you will only have to pay around 1300-20000 per semester. I wouldn't say that the fees is too much but it is cheap as compared to other privaty college in India.

If your father is in government services then you can opt for tuition fee waiver by submiy a form given by the government. You will need to sign in from the priny of the college and then submit it to your office.

The gender ratio is fine. Extracurricular activities are quite good here. We have football, volleyball, kabaddi, tug-o-war, table tennis, badminton etc. The college participates in regular inter college events and have won a lot of them. The labs are in good condition and has all the necessary equipments.

The hostel of NSEC is still under construction. All the students either stay in PG or rented flats or mess. The PG costs around 5000 per month and if you have a group of friends then you should opt for mess.

An alumni meet for every branch is held every year. We at CSE department have the MELANGE where the alumni are invited every year and we celebrate with them. Similarly all the departments have their respective alumni meet every year.

I got admission in this college through my WBJEE rank. I joined NSEC in 2016. I had a rank of 11395 and chose computer science as my stream. This college is ranked as one of the top techno india branches in west bengal. In order to get admission here, you must have a decent rank. Then you have to undergo the counselling process after which if you get this college, then you will have to get to the campus to fullfil the further joining requirements. You will need to make a draft of a required amount before coming for admission along with all your documents.

Faculties are good but most of them prefer to speak in bengali. So if you are a non bengali student then you might face some problem in the beginning. All of them are qualified enough to teach in an engineering college.
