My Story

The college is situated in a limited spatial area. The campus is very small and there always exists one problem. That is the lack of a ground for students to play and do intercurricular activities. The college authorities do their best in any manner to support us by renting grounds for our participation intercurricular activities.

Actually the curriculum of the civil engineerring under the Kerala technical University is not so bad. but it is nit great too. You could make more pratical hours and put more emphasis on research and project rather than making students to study byheart some rigid philosophies. We urge a change because we knew that how much time we spent on studying something you would never need on your life.

We have a career guidance and placement cell within our college which helps us to prepare for these placements and interviews. We have a large variety of indian companies visiting us like the Tata groups and we are obliged to get placed everytime they visit us.

Our cultural fest is called Sargam. It is actually a well blend of artistic talents and skill with proper management. We were able to held up it at our own college auditorium. our technical cum cultural fest is aagneya. It is the most important fest of our college. It is held outside college for a period of 3 days. It was excellent last year with nuclea band.

Yearly sem registration fees vary from 6000 to 8000. But it is well feasible within our limits. Since it is a government college it also offers backward students fee which is feasible for them. There are other fees such as pta fund of 6000 and bus fees of 1000.

I have availed a scholarship which is known as e-grantz. It offers only to the students belonging to OBC (other backward classes)and it is a great scholarship. They will give back every fee that we pay related to our academics such as exam registrations.

Actually the gender ratio is high, it is well high. more girls study in our college. There are so many workshops conducted by the college union in collabration with each department. There are so many cultural societies within our college such as Indian concrete institute, indian geotechnical institute etc.

The college doesnt have a mens hostel. So we are forced to stay at private hostels. But somehow i managed to get into a hostel which is the most affordable one in the city. Good rooms and tiling facilities with uninteruppted powersupplys with generators. Great sanitation facilities with european closets at each and every bathroom. The bathroom cleaned every day.

The seniors are very helpful in each and every aspect. They give us advices and instructions which are very informative to us. The College alumini is excellent and some of our seniors were the first rank holders in civil services exams. Those people are always an inspiring figure.

The entrance criteria as i said is through the Kerala engineering exam or keam which can be attended only if you had passed your 12th grade. The marks obtained from this entrance examination is then moderised with the marks obtained from the 12th board exams whether it is state or any board. Then ranklist is published and colleges are alloted through online allotment process.

Actually the faculties are excellent and most of them have a thourogh practical knowledge and helps us to encounter with realtime challenges. They usually gives us practical works to improve our knowledge and skill in this facility. Actually we are blessed with a great bunch of excellent faculties.
