Remarks

Taking addmission in this college should be one's priority only if one is not economically strong and want to do B. Tech. Otherwise, try not to come here. If you can take drop, do that. Campus is close to nature. You can go to treks to take a break. There is almost no pollution at all. Air is fresh. Geographically, college is really good.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course Structure and Curriculum is taken same as IIT Delhi. Same minors, majors etc. But after classes, you get plentiful of time to spend on yourself. Exams are always hectic. They don't know how to make a datesheet. Two minors a day. During majors, either 3 day holiday in consecutive exams or no holiday at all.

Placement Experience

3

Only 5-10 students get internships from college and that too due to some agreement with Intel etc. No company even bothers to visit here for internships. For placement, this session was best till date, 100% placement. But all of those from on-campus got placed in Mass recruiters at 3. 5 lpa. Those who appeared for off-campus got placed at package above 3. 5lpa.

College Events

2.5

Titiksha : Technical Fest Every year, university have one same excuse, we don't have budget. God knows where all funding goes. Prizes are delayed. This year's fest was 2 weeks ago. We still haven't got any prizes as money isn't sanctioned by higher authorities. Resurgence : Cultural Fest University has never been supportive for Resurgence. Every year, less budget than previous year. Cultural programmes do not get any respect or appreciation from college authorities. In general, we manage fests in really low budget. We don't get any sponsorship here. Thanks to the location.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure is only thing on should consider taking addmission here. It is really feasible when compared to other colleges. But we don't have any kind of fee deduction for reserved classes and economically weaker sections' students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship depends upon your JEE rank. Rank < 30,000 : No Tution fee for 5 semesters. 30,000 < Rank < 50,000 : No Tution fee for 4 semesters. 50,000 < Rank < 100,000 : No Tution fee for 3 semesters. Condition given that, you must maintain minimum 7. 5 CGPA with no backlogs.

Campus Life

3.5

Labs are scheduled and works fine. We get all facilities there. Here again, lab attendants are not knowledgeable. Almost all popular sports are played here. Cultural societies just start and end almost every year. No one takes them seriously except a few students. They got dissolved due to no funding at all. Majority of students are from Jammu. So they all leave college for the weekend and chill at their homes.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are nice here. Mess food is nice here. Internet connection is proper. Everything works almost fine. They charge reasonable fee for it. Generally, singlets and doublets are there. Girls are not allowed to go outside their hostels after 8PM.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior student network in CSE is getting way better. They are supportive for us. They guide us. They mentor us. Some of the seniors still run Telegram groups for us. They are our only source of mentorship in the college.

Admission

Got low marks in JEE mains 2018. Appeared for college's own entrance exam which started that year only - SMVDUEE. Cracked that exam. Got addmission in this only because fee is not so high when compared to other colleges.

Faculty

2.5

Faculty of the college is a big question mark on the recruiters. Some of them, say 10% are having proper knowledge of their subjects. Rest of the faculty either have no proper knowledge or not capable to teach due to lack of communication skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Highest package is of 45 lpa and lowest of 8 lpa. There is 100% placements of students from core branches. After i get my degree i want to work in a tech company and learn about technology.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
