Remarks

Positive: it is a government college hence the fees is less and the experience gained is pretty good. The chance for getting a job is also higher since it's a government colleg Negative: the lectures are not good and students have to study on own to pass theory exams

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course structure is hectic with focus given to rote learning but this has changed since last year with emphasis being given to extra curricular activities too. The course is hectic with almost no holidays and daily postings

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements after MBBS is an irrelevant question as few people go for jobs straight after MBBS and most prefer to do a PG before looking for jobs. But if need be, it is not at all difficult to find a job straight after MBBS and that too one with good salary.

College Events

2

The events celebrated in this college are fun fair, graduation, JDA, college day, sports day, and intercollege fest. Overall the celebrations here are not as good as some other colleges as the fund allocated for celebrations are too small.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is feasible when compare to private colleges. It used to be 12750 per year but since last year they have hiked the fees to 60000 per year, which is pretty high but still far cheaper than lakhs taken by private colleges

Fees and Financial Aid

The govt provides scholarship for SC/ST/OBC students and provide free books for such students. Apart from these scholarships, students can easily avail loans without much hassle because this is a govt coleege

Campus Life

2.5

The gender ratio for girls:boys is about 1:3 for each batch. The sports and extracurricular activities here are not good enough since there is no coaching provided and there are not enough equipment. Hence very few students win at major sports events

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network exists but is not very active. The existing seniors studying here are pretty helpful in studies and other things. The alumni has built a guest house in the college campus which can be used with prior booking

Admission

I chose MBBS because of the respect associated with the profession and the opportunity to heal the sick. Which to me seems like a job which deserves respect. I wrote all India entrance, AIPMT and got a rank of 2686 which helped me secure a seat here

Faculty

2.5

The faculty are well qualified and respected doctors of bellary but they don't take lectures very often. The teaching at postings is good which helps in getting a practical knowledge. Theory, we often hav to struggle and study on our own

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
