Remarks

College is a great place to explore our hidden talents whether it's in academics or in extra-curricular activities and my college offered me a perfect platform to help me enhance all those talents. It's a perfect mix of study and fun alltogether and after all this is done, it will bid farewell to you along with a secured job in your hand.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is well structured throughout all the semesters. There are 6 semesters exam in 3 years held in May and Nov-Dec. B. com honours is not a research based course. Rather it focuses on accounting & finance practical and business & market theory.

Placement Experience

4.5

Gargi College has a separate student and teacher run department for placements/internship called The Placement Cell. They tie up with various companies and gives you an opportunity to connect with them. It's an easy way to get an interview with some of the big companies. Various companies comes to our campus for campus placement and some of them also offer PPO if we have previously done internship with them. Example : Ernst & Young, KPMG, S&P Global, NIIT, Deloitte, PWC, Wipro Limited, American Express, Finedge, BYJU's.

College Events

5

We have a huge number of events that take place in our college. I will list the best one our of them. Commerce Department Fest : Happens every year in Winters. We have various fun quizzes and competition with exciting prizes. People from various colleges come and take participate. Various food stalls are also there and we also get free coupons for the same. Zistatva : An annual Diwali fest. It's the most colourful and eventful fest with lots and lots of games and shopping & food stalls. Reverie : Annual cultural fest and the father of all the fest. It's a three day fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is very affordable as this is government run institute. The fee has to be paid annually through online and it is about 28000 for entire three years. It ranges from 8500 to 9500 per year and there is no extra expenses involved in this (books extra).

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as I am aware of, there is no such scholarship offered by my college.

Campus Life

4.5

To start off I take immense proud in saying that Gargi College has a very rich culture. We have variety of cultural societies and also have separate society for every department of college. Every society organizes it's own fest which are very fun and educational at the same time. Gargi College also take parts in all the sports competition and has team on it's own for various sports.

Hostel Facilities

4

No hostel facility. (And I just have to stretch it to 200 characters as it is not allowing me to submit). There is no hostel facility in Gargi College. Although many other college in DU have this facility.

Alumni/Alumna

My college seniors were always there for us. Whether it's just the matter of guidance or organising fest towards or taking part in competitions or helping one to crack interviews. We also organize alumini meet.

Admission

The admission in most of the college in Delhi University is based on their cut off list. Cut-off list states the minimum marks required to get admission in these colleges for any of the course and takes into consideration 12th Board exam scores. I got admission in Gargi College in 1st cut-off list only as the minimum requirement was 96% for B. Com Honours course.

Faculty

5

The teachers at my college are extremely generous and helpful. One can easily reach out to them even after the class is over and can qualify all the doubts and gain some extra knowledge too. They would be available for you on call and whatsapp everytime, especially in exam period. All the teachers are highly qualified and some of them even major in more than one subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
