Remarks
The only negative remark would be the super lengthy class hours. Normally classes span from 9 am in the morning to 4 pm in the evening, with just one 45 minute break. In such lengthy spans, it becomes very difficult to grasp stuff because your mind stops functioning. If the study hours were more flexible with breaks in between it would be good.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curiculum seems to be a bit outdated, but that's the problem of almost all engineering colleges in Kolkata. Exam structure is flexible and there is a lot of time to prepare for them, although sometimes unit tests are too frequent ,specially in even semesters when there is less time to complete the syllabus.
Placement Experience
Job opportunities are just as you would expect from a private college, almost 100% placement and renouned companies like amazon have also hired students from our college. The college does provide internships starting from 3rd year with 2 mandatory ones and rest optional. Since I'm in second year I haven't got an internship yet.
College Events
We celebrate the heritage utsav where lots of technical fests along with cultural programs are organised. Other than that we have various programs and workshops organised by dsc and rotaract clubs which provide an opportunity to learn lots of new stuff.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It's flexible compared to most private institutes in India, it's not very heavy on the pocket. Although in studying on a student loan but it's a net sun of 4 lakh rupees , so it won't place a heavy burden on your shoulder.
Fees and Financial Aid
College covers for student fees of students who score good in exams , which is normal above 9 cgpa. Below that there is no scene for scholarships. You can apply for scholarship if your senior secondary grades are good and you are from a poor family background.
Campus Life
Labs are well equipped with lots of equipments for every student and all of them are functional. We have a common field , but sports activities are very limited in the college because of lack of space as it's attached with the heritage school.
Hostel Facilities
No i don't stay in a hostel , this college doesn't have hostel for boys , which is a downside. There is hostel for girls and it's super good, big rooms , well furnished with ac fitted. It's really close to the college too, and the campus is beautiful so staying there is nice and cosy. There are variety stores inside the campus so you don't need to go out to buy regular use stuff.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are super helpful and we have a dedicated website to contact allumni if we need to. The campus is totally ragging free and seniors are very friendly. Seniors also run lots of clubs and take full responsibility of their actions.
Admission
I got admission solely on the basis of my WBJEE rank, had tried to get into car branch but got ece instead, which I'm fine with. I had to wait until second round of counselling to get admission in this college. The on spot admission was hectic though, lots of students, lenghty queue , and no proper crowd management, took almost 3 hours to get it done.
Faculty
Faculty is pretty good, some of them are very good and well experienced, others seem to be decent. Since most of them are from Bengal their accent seems to cause a problem among students who belong to different states.
