Remarks

It was a very good college and kept upto itys reputation. As being in Delhi it had a mix of multicultural composition. The faculty was excellent. The bad part was because of association with Delhi University it was not independent to take many decisions.

Entrance Preview

Common Engineering Entrance Test. As common test conducted by University of Delhi. Which was objective type. There was one exam each for Physics, Chemistry and Maths. The Maths was always very low scoring and tough compared to Physics or chemistry. However Chemistry was scoring. There was equal weightage to each paper. With about 100000 students appearing for the exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I had opted for Electrical Engineering. It was very elaborate with few courses of Mechanical like Thermodynamics, Power Plant Engineering and Fluid Mechanics. Which developed us as over all engineer not only electrical or electronics.

Internships Opportunities

It was enriching. Had training at BHEL and Rajghat Power Plant. Which both added to my know how of power plants and electrical machines. There was no stipend offered although. After the internship our reports were assesed and we appeared for Vivas. Which were taken by external faculty. It was also a great experience

Placement Experience

4

Placement was more than 90% of the students who had completed their curriculum successfully. The companies which had come were from all the streams like IT,Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing,PSUHLL,EIL,GAIL,L&T,TCIL,Honeywell,Daewoo, Maruti,TCS, TataInfotech

College Events

3.5

We used to have Engifest which was a very big event with a budget of about 10-20 Lakhs way back in 90's which was a very good amount during that time. It was a big event with participation from colleges and university from North India.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Tution fee was per semester Rs 600 and Exam fee used to be Rs300 per semester being a Government college. With Rs 900 per semester the total fee would have been some Rs 5000 for whole course. Books apart

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not aware if any scholorship was offered from the college. If any wsas being offered may have been from the university. But as far as I know. No one in the college got any scholarship from University. I may be wrong

Campus Life

4

Gender ratio was very poor in my batch No girls in Mechanical with our of total 100 students. In electrical only 5 girls out of class of 70. Engineering may be was not a preferred career choice for girls then. There was no Gender bias or any religious intolerance. We never encountered any. Studenst came from a mixed economic background and ethnicity.

Hostel Facilities

3

I was a day scholar so writing about the hostel faclity in detail will not be correct but we had friends who were in the hostels. Hostel was very ordinary and mess was manged by the students which I think resulted in satisfactory food being served to them

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors and Alumins are well placed. Many of them have reached position of powers in the PSU and Pvt sector. But in our batch mostly preferred to either go for MBA or IT and are settled in US aor other wester countries. Lot of selection to IIMs were there. Many went to foregn Universities for further studies. Dont know if anyone pursued further studies in India

Exam Structure

We had an Eight semester system with with regular exams. divided in two parts. Major and Minors. With Minor having 20 & weightage, Majors 70% and 10% was for internal assesment. It was not so chilled out. No sooner the minors were over than 2 months down

Faculty

4.5

Faculty was one of the best in India with reputed names Like Prof C.L. Wadhwa, Prof J.K. Das, Prof S.P. Seth and Prof Bhise. The mechanical Dept too had some reputed names like Prof Saluja and Prof Ballaney. However the faculty for electronics was that goo

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum consists of relatable topics and interesting ones as well this is what quite influenced me to take this course. We have labs which help us learn how to prepare various organic compounds which are used in many day to day products . The course also has a 4th year research program. There should be more equipments in lab for the research. The frequency is good for exams being conducted and there level is also quite good

The students become eligible for the placements provided by the college in their 3rd year, while they can pursue internship offered by the college in previous years. Average sized companies visited the campus with lots of students being placed for jobs. The highest package I am not aware of but lowest was of around 300000 pa. I plan to pursue masters after my graduation degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
