Remarks
College provides good facilities in every academic aspects. Being a Government College, the fee structure and all are feasible for every class of students. Negetive side is that medical Colleges never offers a fun academics as that of an arts College. It's not the negetive of the College, it's due to the seriousness and professionalism the course offers. Anyway the College Union, Students and everything makes the campus life awesome.
Course Curriculum Overview
This course curriculum is bit hard compared to other professional and non-professional courses. There's a lot to study. More than theory classes we have clinical postings which make us capable to handle cases efficiently. By the time we complete the course, we are made to attend postings and classes on various departments. Exam Structure- 1st MB EXAM - after 2nd semester (you'll get promoted to third semester only if you pass the exam. Or else you should have to attend the exam again after 6 months) 2nd MB EXAM - after 5th semester 3rd MB EXAM - after 7th semester FINAL MB EXAM - after 9th semester After that, if we have passed final MB exam then we'll be promoted to house surgeoncy(1 year).
Placement Experience
Our College never offers placements. Actually no medicak Colleges in the country offers placements. College is all about providing us graduation. We do have to attend a 1 year internship which covers all the major departments. Currently the stipend provided is 25000
College Events
The major programme is the graduation programme of the final year batch, which is a huge celebration. Being a medical College, College itself never arranges or provides spaces for programmes. College union, which is very active arranges programmes regularly and provide mental refreshment, enjoyment and make the campus life fun-filled rather than tough academics.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Being a Government College the institution offers high quality education for feasible fees. Academic fees is 25000 per annum. Exam fees and other fees varies and is not so high and is affordable. Scholarships are available for ecomically and socially backward people which help them in a great manner.
Fees and Financial Aid
Not the College, government offers scholarships for socially backward classes. For them the entire course is free except the mess fees. Government provide scholarships for academic, hostel amd exam fees.
Campus Life
Number of female students are usually higher than males in every batch. College provides good lab facilities and clinical aspects. No sort of discrimination or intolerance towards caste, creed, colour, race, sex , relegion etc have not reported so far.
Hostel Facilities
I'm a hostel mate. Infrastructure and facilities are not so good nor bad. It's more than adjustable. Compared to the per month rent that is 50 rupees, the rooms and facilities provided is high. Mess fees is seperate. 120 per day. Total rate depends on your dependence on mess. Average mess bill is 2500 for a student per month.
Alumni/Alumna
There exists an Alumni Association which is actually not in much touch with the students or the student's union. They are not so active or strong in the welfare activities of the campus. I think they works associated with the PTA wing of the College.
Admission
Central Government of India conducted an All India level entrance exam - NEET( National Entrance cum Eligibility Test). Seats were alloted to various medical Colleges in the country based on the rank acquired by the student in the exam. Government of Kerala published a seperate ranklist only including keralites by which admission to most of the seats in Kerala were carried out.
Faculty
Being a Government Medical College, each and every faculty of the College is highly qualified and well interested in teaching us. Many of them are very strict so that they make us fit for the profession.
