SMVDU Review

University is among the top 100 universities of country. NIRF rank 85. Its located in trikuta hills of Jammu Kashmir so market place is almost absent still facilities are developing and things are getting sorted.

Course curriculum of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University is similar to Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. We have 2 Minor examination and One Major examination. Laboratory practical examination are additional as per the subject required.

I don't have deep knowledge about it , but i as far i asked seniors placement are decent.As university is located in katra (Jammu & Kashmir) its hard for many campanies to come for campus placement. Still TCS, Wipro, Indian Navy, Mahendra and many other etc visit every year.

As SMVDU is technical university there are many cultural technical events through out the year. Titiksha greatest technical fest of Jammu Kashmir helds annually. Resurgence cultural fest Sarang sports fest. As management course like MBA and MSc Economics are also there so Management fest Aartha is also helds.

Fee structure of SMVDU is feasible as like other NIT/GFTI it's around 2 lakh rupees per annum which includes hostel and mess charges too. There is scholarship for JoSAA decent ranking students. Students having JEE rank under 30 thousand have full tuition fee waiver for 5 semesters, for under 50 thousand and 1 lakh its 4,3 semesters respectively.

SMVDU is university so there are various extracurricular activities helds regularly throughout the year. AIU events happen. There are cultural clubs such as Threater club , Music club, photography club and many more. In the field of techn there is code club , AI circle , Robotics club and many others.

Infrastructure of University is very great. Its surrounded by Trikuta hills of Himalayan range. Hostel rooms are doublet for 1st and 2nd year afterwards singlet room having fans. Bathrooms have geyser and shower like facilities. One would hate the thing is mess food for non Jammuian its out of taste.

Seniors of University are very helpful. They support us in various stages by advising and checking whether we are regularly progressing in our projects or not. Alumnis connects us through video conferencing.

I appeared for Joint Engineering Examination in 2018 in which i had got 47k rank then i applied for Joint Seat Allocation Athority JoSAA counselling 2018. I had got CSE here in SMVDU in its 7th round.

Faculty of University is nice. Most of the professors are PhD holders. Most of them have years of experience. Few among the faculty are from TEQIP III under the faculty exchange program. Faculty is very helpful.
