My college journey

The college management is pretty good. All the teachers are very stiff and supportive.

The duration of mechanical Engineering course is 4 years. In each semester there are 5 subjects(and a software such as Catia, SOLIDWORKS,etc.). The exam is carried out in two forms for the first 2 years of the course,i.e. online and theory exam. For each subject practical is there for better learning of the student. The course is certainly behind the current trends and is not research driven. For better learning of the course, I am going to pursue MS.

The college offers good placement to most of the students. Reputed companies such an INFOSYS, MAHINDRA, TATA recruit students from our college. I personally have had not any experience regarding the placement and the procedure around it. This is my first year in this college (direct second year admission being a Diploma student), so as of now I haven't did any internships.

Various technical non-technical cultural events are been celebrated in our college. Events like WagonKraft and Tectonic are cultural events, whereas events like Sinhgad Karandak are cultural events.all of these events are carried out in the month of January ending and February. many students from across the city participate in these events. on the last day of the cultural event the college arranges a concert. Due to my first year in college I have not participated in any of these events.

The fee of the college is a bit expensive but they are allowed the students to pay the fees on installation basis. office members are not generous as they are always behind the student for not paying his fees. The college fee is 125000 which is a bit above average for a middle class family. More over the college does not provide the facilities even after the students pay such huge amounts of money.

I have opted for scholarship because of being a boy from middle class family. as my family income is below 800000 rupees so I am eligible for the scholarship. any student who is eligible for the scholarship can avail the scheme by an online process arranged by the government of Maharashtra as per the caste of each student. I have opted for EBC scheme.

The campus life is pretty good being a student of Mechanical engineer. There are more boys as compared to girls. In a class of 100 students we have about 80 boys and 20 girls. no extra curricular activities are arranged by the college if the student wishes to play any kind of sports he has to play by himself without any college's assistance.

As my hometown is Pune so I have not opted for any hostel. The hostel fees around 50000 to 60000 rupees which does not include any kind of breakfast lunch or dinner facilities. Hot tap water is available for the students in the morning for bathing. Moreover there are no power which is a big relief for students.

Being my first year in this college I have had no personal experience regarding the aluminium network and senior students.

I got admission to this college via a merit list. I opted for Mechanical engineering course because of interest in manufacturing of components and also automobiles. Admission for under graduate course through Diploma is carried out by an online process by Government of Maharashtra named as STATE COMMON ENTRANCE TEST CELL. Following are the steps for the online process: 1. The eligible candidate has to fill an online admission form. 2. Then, a list of college which the candidate wishes to persue his course from I been summited via an online portal. 3. Merit List is been displayed online showcasing all the students of various departments under a single sheet, designed as per the percentage obtained. 4. Cap round 1 list is displayed. If the particular candidate has secured marks within the college cut off he/she is been allocated the institute on the basis of marks. 5. Same procedure for Cap round 2 & Cap round 3. 6. After allotment of particular institute, approval from within the institution is done to the main portal and hence the candidate is alloted the particular institute.

One lecturer is assigned for each subject (may or may not be same for theory and practical). Most of the lecturer are well qualified and have persued M.E. or M.Tech. All of them are very enthusiastic and willing to teach the students. They are rather focused on completion of syllabus as each college does. Surely, they have many events wherein the students can explore his inner talents such as WAGENKRAFT and TECTONIC. Also for extra-curricular activities,the college arranges an event named as 'SINHGAD KARANDAK' which is famous across Pune.
