Remarks

CET has the best in class Labs and workshops the central computing facility, each student has got an account to check their attendance, marks, Class schedule etc. There is Career Guidance and Placement cell for campus recruitment, and also the biggest Library in Kerala with a good variety of technical and non-technical books.

Entrance Preview

I wrote kerala engineering entrance examination and got 640 th rank. I preferred this college because it is one of the best colleges in Kerala and campus placements are very high.See the history of college here.

The course is based on kerala university syllabus now it is under the Kerala technological university.

Internships Opportunities

Internships are not good here we go outside and do internships during holidays but CET has an entrepreneur development cell to support Startups and BOSCH REXROTH-CET CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGIES also provide training.

Placement Experience

Regarding placements, It is one among the top in South India to provide campus placements. Several Companies like IBM, Wipro, TCS, Mu-sigma, Commvault, Hyundai Motors, Oracle, Verizon, Siemens, Alcatel, Texas Instruments etc come here for recruitment. We have a very busy schedule of campus placements in the last semesters.

The college celebrated its 75th year in 2014. There are a lot of extracurricular activities. NSS club, Quiz club, Robotics Club, ISTE, IEEE etc are some of them and they actively organise various programs our batch got a chance to be a part of the 75th year celebrations. The physical education department is also active.

Hostel Facilities

College hostels do not provide a good atmosphere for freshers and It is better to look for home stays outside the college.

External Expense: Rs. 4000 - Rs. 7000

Alumni/Alumna

CET has got a strong alumni network and they work in various parts of the world in high positions, GMs, Project directors, CEOs etc they come to campus to interact with the students and they inspire us a lot.

The faculties here are very friendly, but the classes are very interesting. Most professors are highly qualified and have experience of more than 10 years.

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Life at CET

This college is the best government college in Kerala. It has been consistently first in KIRF ranking. It has very cheap fees. The campus is very beautiful and spacious (about 200 acres). My best choice of colleges very IITs and NITs like most people. I couldn't crack JEE. I only applied to this college because I had very high ranking in KEAM exam and was confident of acceptance. KEAM exam is a lot easier to crack than JEE. It has basic higher secondary school syllabus. To get my course you would have to be around 700th rank. To get other courses in my college you can have rank as low as 20k....Read More
