Remarks
The overall learning experience which a two year campus life gives is immense & the bonds you make with people during the two years are the most cherished ones. You get an experience of living in an alien environment with unknown people from throughout the country from different cultural backgrounds.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was good. First year, we had 3 trimesters in which all subjects were mandatory for the students. Second year, we had to choose our electives based on the respective specialization perused. I opted for a Marketing specialization and selected the courses based on it. The course covers all aspects of Management like Finance, Operations, IT etc and I got a very good opportunity to get a deep knowledge of various subjects of these domains. During, second year as desired I drilled on almost everything related to marketing. Overall, it was a good experience. The improvements which I would suggest is more technology related curriculum & they should be used in teaching also.
Placement Experience
Yes, we have a summer internship at the end of the first year. The placements are well upto the mark & as desired. The average package ranges from 11 lakhs to 15 lakhs in a batch of 360 students. Some companies which are regular recruiters are Godrej, Loreal, PWC, Deloitte, KPMG, Hero, Maruti Suzuki etc. My summer internship was at Star Media Group with a stipend of ?30,000 per month in Mumbai & all expenses were borne by the company. The internship was in digital marketing wherein I got an end to end exposure of handling digital marketing for HDFC Ergo & got to learn the various tools used in that. Overall, it was a great learning experience for me in an area which is currently the most important field for all brands.
College Events
The annual fest was called XPRESSIONS which happens in November every year. It consists of various business events, case study competitions, cultural events with grand prizes up for grabs. A celebrity night is there on all 3 days of the fest. B-Schools from all over the country come & participate in the events & we see an average foot fall of around 20,000 for the 3 days.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The two year course fee is ?17 laks including everything. The fees is a bit on the higher side I would say however when you compare with the average fees of MBA colleges in that criteria, it's not much of a difference.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college has a tie up with 3-4 banks for providing education loans at very low rates to the students when they show the admission letter. The college gives you the contact of the bank throughout the country & it really eases the process of loan as you don't have to do anything & it is approved by default on getting an admission letter.
Campus Life
You name an extra curricular activity & it was present in the college. The sports facilities were amazing with options to play all the sports during your free time & throughout the 24 hours. It was managed by a sports committee. There were 32 committees looking after all these different extra curricular activities & everything was managed by the students itself. So, it gives you a very different learning experience.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel was good & was newly built. We had double sharing rooms with attached washrooms. The rooms were maintained properly and were cleaned every 4 days by the staff. The water facilities was there in each floor.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is really amazing and the way it's been managed by the students is really efficient. With an alumni network & database of 7500 plus people of whom majority are at very senior positions at various companies in different countries. Keeping them connected with their Alma matter is a difficult task but the management gives it a lot of importance. Alumni meets are held in different cities for networking purposes & every year one batch is called back to the college for a grand celebration. So, the connection seems to be a long lasting one. The seniors were also good & you get to interact with them a lot through different committees when you work together. They help in placement processes & guide the juniors on various subjects & exams.
Admission
I gave the entrance exam CAT& XAT through which I had cleared the percentile cut off for the college. Then, a shortlist for Group Discussion & Personal Interviews were declared. I appeared for the process and cleared the process after which I received the call letter from the institute. My interview was based on my previous work experience, graduation subjects & on my hobbies & goals in life. I choose this course because it gave the cross functional exposure I required from MBA & the college being a 30 year old institute had a huge Alumni network.
Faculty
The faculties are well qualified for the job & overall they were good. Some of the faculties were excellent in their subject due to their teaching methodology & understanding the current generation of students. Although, some faculties weren't upto the mark of the college and we were asked for continuous feedback on this from the college authorities.
