College is overall good only need is a little bit of freedom.
Course Curriculum Overview
So about the curriculum it just changed in 2019 batch and a small amount of knowledge is given about each and every branch so one may be easy with the every field then after one year you enter into the core of your branch and yes there is an industrial exposure but that only depends on student. Also the curriculum is fair and research driven and it helps us to become a better professional and helps us to be placed after 4 years course.
Placement Experience
About 80 to 90 percent students are placed every year. Many big companies come for placement like maruti suzuki, Tata, samsung, Adobe, UT, LG, Godrej, etc. So there is basically a seprate Training and Placement cell in our college which get students prepared for interviews.
College Events
There are many events held at our college major are annual sports meet and technical and cultural fests. Technical fest called NIMBUS is held in marsmch and April while Hill'ffair our cultural fest is held in October. So all events organised are enjoyable.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is according to your category and annual income. So sadly being a general and my family income just 20 k above 5 lac per annum which was just above threshhold I have to pay full fees amonut. Which becomes quite expensive if your brother or sister studies in same college as you 2 will have to pay 4 lacs and money left for your parents will be jus 1 lac per annum that's too low for survival.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are a lot of scolarship opportunities provided in this college. The criteria was marks and different categories, the one which I applied for was SJVN Silver Jublee it gave 2000 RPM till 4 years but the cutoff was 2 marks above than my marks so in present I am having no scolarship. And I didn't have took any education loan.
Campus Life
Campus Life is enjoyable in this college with a good environment of Himachal Pradesh. Being an engineering college gender ratio is like 3 girls in 10 boys even this due to reservations for girl candidates. Extracurricular participation depends on you wether you come forward or not otherwise exposure is provided fully.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, my room is shared by 4 and there was an option for 3 sharing room further in final year we get single rooms. Even four share one room as strength of the college is increased this year. Facilities are nominal for the survival. But yes the hostels are far better than other college hostels.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors as well as passed out seniors are very helpful it's only upto you wether you talk to them nicely or not and it's a general procedure that if you are nice to everyone the ultimately one will be nice to you.
Admission
It's the first engineering college of Himachal Pradesh and being a NIT admission is done through JEE enterance test and than based on your rank you can choose college of your choice as well as branch. So I cleared JEE in 2019nand got admission in this college acoording to my rank I got Mechanical branch.
Faculty
Faculty members are distributed department wise each department has a faculty of around 20 to 30 lecturers and yes they are helpful and if you have any problem related to your acdemics or college you can contact them or go to their cabin when they are free having no lectures.
