Remarks

Positive remarks would include academics, clinical exposure, well informed and highly qualified staff, laboratories and departments. Negative remarks would be that the hospital is swamped with patient load and the hospital infrastructure still needs upgradation which is already underway.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is amazing, there is so much to learn. MBBS comprises 19 subjects and is covered over 4.5 years +1 year compulsory internship for which students are paid stipend as well. The exams are conducted by RGUHS annually apart from internal examinations conducted by the various departments in college. Exams and labs are well spaced and are carried out as per a schedule. MBBS as such is a demanding field and hence the exams and labs and clinics can leave you drained

Placement Experience

5

College provides internship and stipend. Stipend varies every year as decided by the college committee but 365 days of hospital service is required in order to get the degree as per NEET Guidelines. In some areas rural service is also required.

College Events

5

We have an annual intercollegiate fest by the name of COBALT SKIES every year in the month of October. Apart from this we have an intra collegiate fest every march. We have sports days, graduation day, Kannada habba, ethnic day and many more things.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very flexible and affordable. Some students can avail scholarships too depending on the government policies. Fees has to be paid 6 monthly and exam fees is paid separately at the end of each year when exam applications are filed.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availed any scholarship. But students can avail scholarships based on government schema. Sometimes the government gives refunds over whatever academic or mess fee the students pay. Some students get books issued from the library.

Campus Life

4.5

Labs are well maintained and spacious. Some are located in the college building itself, some are located on the hospital Campus. We have gym facility in the college apart from basket ball and volley ball courts.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel infrastructure is good and well maintained. The facilities are good. Mess food is average but since the mess is run by students, there is scope for improvement. Cleaning facility, water and electricity with lifts etc is there. Ladies hostel is situated right on campus whereas boys hostel is situated slightly farther away.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is constantly working to improve the college and the hospital infrastructure with generous donations and starting up of different centres in the hospital. Every year a new initiative is taken up by the alumni association.

Admission

I got in through NEET-UG entrance exam. I chose MBBS because I've always aspired to be a doctor. The Neet exam generates an all India rank for you based on which state merit and all India merit lists are prepared. 85% state quota is applicable to students of Karnataka and 15% quota is applicable to students from other parts of India. No specific interview is conducted. A counselling is conducted after neet results to take admission here

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is experienced and we'll qualified. They have a lot of clinical acumen and are a huge inspiration for the students. Clinical exposure begins from 1st year itself and everybody starting from post graduate students upto professors are involved in this process.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
