One of the best Engineering college for Computer Science

The positive thing about computer department is that the faculties can understand what student is strong at and what a student is weak at. So they can counsel with them providing different opportunities to enhance the students is what I felt. Negative thing is lots of assignments, paper work, 75% mandatory attendance,etc.

The Computer Science course mainly focuses on the research of currently and upcoming technologies. By 2018, the college was accredited by the Savitribai Phule University of Pune. (Now, its in process of autonomous). The syllabus designed by University was mostly fullfilling the company requirements. Most of the Computer Science faculties are well versed with the subjects and they provide proper guidance to students on more of Research oriented study than Exam oriented. Labs are almost daily for 2 hours and full of fun. Definitely not a hectic day, but not so chill even Uniform is MANDATORY

Till the time I was in college, they didn't provide any internships. The training and placement cell of PCCOE was successful in bringing companies with package of 20(Adobe) and 26 lakhs also to college. Lots of service based companies are the mass recruiters of PCCOE The most of companies came are Wipro, Capgemini, KPIT, Dassault Systems, Persistent Systems, Tibco, TIAA, Bombardier, Schlumberger, etc.

Biggest event for new joiners is Spectrum, completely handled by First Year students. It involves different sub events like Coding competition, Robotic competition, Circuit wizard- A competition for E&Tc students, etc. Later, by computer department, Techlligent is the event organised at State level, in which students across all colleges across State come and have opportunity to be a part of sub events like Coding competition, Paper presentations, poster presentations, also soft skills related things like mock Group discussion, English, etc. One more event is ICCUBEA. The ICCUBEA is paper presentation event, again at State level occurs is mid of August. The papers are invited from mostly post graduate students and final year of graduation Students. The papers finalised by the judging committee are published in IEEE. The KPIT sparkle event takes place in our college which is considered as key event of mechanical department. Cultural event of PCCOE is Swaratarang. Swaratarang occurs in mid of March to April first week. This event becomes energiser for upcoming exams. This involves lot of performance, lot of songs and full fun. The event is succeeded by a heavy lunch by college.

For open/general category I availed one scholarship knows as Central Sector Scholarship which paid me Rs.10,000 every year. The eligibility criteria for the same is that your parents' annual income should not be above 6 lakhs(by 2018, might be revised now) Almost all banks nearby provide the education loan. I am not much aware of it.

The biggest networks of extra curricular activities at PCCOE are National Service Scheme(NSS) and the Art Circle. Under NSS every year, a 7 days camp is arranged in rural areas. This camp helps in overall growth of students. This enhances the moral values of students. Approximately 59 students stay in a village with minimal facilities and try accompanying the people in village by living like them. In this camp, we do social work for the benefit of that village as well as lots of cultural activities, informative sessions, anti superstition sessions, women empowerment, etc. every night for the people. The Art Circle works for the students who are interested in Theatre art. Every year different competitions are arranged by Pune and our college is one of those participants. Some of key competitions are Purushottam Karandak, Firodiya Karandak, etc. Also, the college organises lots of sports events but they are mostly within departments or inter division etc.

PCCOE is best in maintaining the Alumni network. Faculties are always in touch with the Alumni and they try arranging different sessions for the current students. When I was in college, I had one session on Machine Learning from one of our Alumni and it has been helped me a lot. They arrange sessions for higher studies aspirants, research aspirants and also subject specific from the Alumni working in corresponding field.

The Admission process consists of 3 rounds and followed by one counselling session if you didn't get college in 3 rounds. It starts with acquiring admission kit post eligibility criteria fulfillment. The kit has your credentials to AICTE site. Therein you have to fill details about Course and college you wish to join. After approximately 1 month, the process is finished and college is allocated to you based on your preferences. If you are fine, then you can go in college and start admission process by paying fees or else opt for the next round. In PCCOE, they accept payment to cheques, DD and post payments and forms admission is done.

Most of the Computer Science faculties are well versed with the subjects and they provide proper guidance to students on more of Research oriented study than Exam oriented. Some faculties even take interests in bringing different National level coding competitions to the students. Many faculties take part in arranging Los of technical stuff and various technical talks under the umbrella of Student's Association formed. And besides studies, they also focus on extra curricular activities like NSS camps and orphanage visits etc.
