College of Engineering Trivandrum is accredited for 3 years in 2019 in all departments. But placement is less as compared to NITs and IITs.
Course Curriculum Overview
There is 4 year BTech degree and 2 year MTech. Also for Architecture students BArch and its post graduation such as MArch and MPlan is there. Also PhD scholars is there. For BTech degree Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Electronics, Industrial and Computer science Engineering departments are there. For MBA there is CET school of Management.
Placement Experience
There are almost fifteen to twenty companies coming for campus placement. But unfortunately most of them will be IT companies. There is less number of core companies. The regularly coming core companies are MRF, L&T, Saint Goban, etc. The average salary per annum expected as 5 lakhs.
College Events
Cultural festival- Dhwani. Technical festival- Dhourishti. Inter year festival- Sargam. MBA festival- Tharangam. For five years College celebrates Mega Dhwani. and CETEX (also technical festival conducted by faculties of College of Engineering Trivandrum). Now in this year KTU tech fest is also there.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee Structure of the college is simple. For all students they have to pay 8225 per year. And also they have to pay 1700 for every semester as exam fee. For economically backward students they wouldn't pay this 8225. They will have scholarships like E-grants.
Fees and Financial Aid
I'm not eligible for any scholarships. Because my average annual income greater than two and half lakhs. There are a lot of scholarships avail there. FFE, MCMS, Central sector scholarships, Hope, CETAA(awarded by alumnis of this college), other scholarships for girls, etc.
Campus Life
Campus life is beautiful here. There is gender equality in all departments exceptionally in mechanical department. There is large number of men students and girl students are less in numbers. There are so many number of clubs almost 105 clubs are there. College of Engineering Trivandrum is in the foreground in all sports competitions. For robotics there is Robot CET. College's dance team is best in South India.
Alumni/Alumna
A big alumni forum for College of Engineering Trivandrum. Named it as CETAA. Full form is COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING TRIVANDRUM ALUMNI ASSOCIATION. They have so many chapters include in United States of America, UK and so many countries. And they have a strong network between them.
Admission
To get admission to CET Keralites should write KEAM entrance exam. For no-Keralites should appear for JEE Mains. Application starts from January last week and continues till March first or second week. For Keralites they should submit non creamy layer certificate for admission.
Faculty
They are well educated and most of them took their PG or PhD from IIT's or NIT's. There are 8 semesters for. For most subjects they should take atleast thirty to forty hours as regular classes. And with regular class works students have to submit one or two assignments properly.
